minorities in medieval Europe 1321 to 1422 published by Penn University press and we'll be discussing this book and how it relates to the black death and accusations against Jews and other minorities so thank you uh Dr braila for joining me uh thank you for having me good evening so let's start off tell the listeners a little bit about yourself and your background so uh I started my way uh at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem at the department of General history uh and I did my PhD at Columbia University with I did my PhD at Columbia University with Professor Adam Costo and professor alisheva carach and um I I didn't start as a Jewish historian I started as a general historian or a historian of medieval Europe and um the more I got into the field uh the more I understood that um looking at Jews more carefully can allow me to see all kind kinds of um deeper layers of General uh Society uh when you layers of General uh Society uh when you look at the dynamic between minorities and the majority um Jews being one of the minorities of medieval Society you you can understand many of the social phenomenon that are going on and uh since I finished my uh my PhD in 2016 I came back to Israel I spent some time at the Hebrew University again and then uh at Boran University in beeva and now I'm at Kaa as you said and I over the past six years my work I think has
