The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.
Well, the term, you know, as called the Geulah, the beginning of the Geulah, uh can have any any number of meanings. I mean, what it basically means is that we are told in Pesukim and we are told in Chazal that the advent of Mashiach is going to be preceded by a number of steps. So, Aschalta DeGeulah is when we begin to see that some of these steps are beginning to materialize. Now, what are those steps? Part of them involves Milchamot, various struggles, and then you'll have all sorts of interpretations, which war corresponds to which event, Gog U'Magog, things like that. So, Aschalta DeGeulah simply means uh you learn Chazal and you know, you learn Tanach also, of course, but in the light of Chazal's interpretation, and you see the types of things that are supposed to happen before the Geulah comes, and then you can make a judgment that we're in the period of Aschalta DeGeulah. Now, where it gets murky is like Satmar Rav, other people who are very anti-Zionist, uh they say that there can be mirages, there can be false starts, meaning to say, uh you can have the Simanim, but they come from Sitra Achra, they come from
