What does the menorah teach us about our neshama? We're going to see two angles from Rashi and the Ramban's perspectives what the Torah is telling us specifically in Balak where the instruction is to Aaron to light the menorah and yet we're reminded yet again that the menorah had to be out of a single block of gold. Why is that relevant here? In the beginning of our parsha a few verses after the introductory verses that say Balak say when Aaron has to light the menorah or elevate the lamps of the menorah all of the lamps of the menorah have to face the central the menorah have to face the central lamp of the menorah have to face the central lamp and yet the Torah continues to tell us that Aaron did as he was instructed straight in verse 8 then the verse says something which does not really seem to belong. This is how you make the menorah this is the the plan this is how you make the menorah out of a single block of gold has to be out of a single block of gold including all the various details that are designed onto the menorah all of that is out of a single it's a beaten out of a single piece of gold exactly like the vision that Moses was shown that's how Moses made the menorah. The commentaries ask the question there are verses from the parsha that say we already the beginning of this parsha is instruction to Aaron how to light the menorah and that includes the fact that all the lamps have to face into the central lamp. How
