thank you so much control room i appreciate your assistance uh you know that the class begins as soon as they say recording in progress so uh i'm deeply grateful to spend memorial day with all y'all here um learning torah so tonight's topic builds on last week's topic last week we spoke about the meda the attribute spoke about the meda the attribute of ahmet truth this week we talk about the ultimate ultimate truth which is emunah what is the definition of the word emunah so it's interesting if you look in the torah this is one thing that our sages tell us this is a very fundamental principle whenever you want to know what a word means in the torah look at its first usage in the torah and you will know the roots and you will know the roots of that word so if you look for the word emunah which means faith or knowledge we'll see we'll define that shortly it's used multiple times so let's let's think of a few a few of the times that the word emunah is used one is means a skilled laborer a tailor is an uman you have a carpenter who's in uman you have a carpenter who's in uman and so that's that's the word uman we'll see how that fits with emunah you have the word omein omein not amen which we say in synagogue after or after any blessing but oman is the word that's used for mordechai who raised esther he was omane at hadassah he raised hadassah which is which is esther we also say the word amen like we just
