The shiur in English

0:06 From the yeshiva Aish HaTorah. Aish HaTorah, near the Kotel? - Yes. - What a beautiful yeshiva you have. - These young men are from Mexico, they are not from religious families. They have now left all of ‘this world,’ everything, and are now coming for a short time to the yeshiva, just to sit.. in honor of Rosh Hashanah, the holidays, to draw closer - in Elul and Tishrei.

0:31 - And what do you teach them? - Torah, outlook, mussar, halachah, everything possible. And, thank Hashem, this is the first time that we are bringing them. Last year we brought a group like this. Out of forty, almost all stayed in the yeshiva, and become men of Torah and of the service of Hashem, and stay in Israel. They really leave behind all the life of ‘this world,’ and their families and homes abroad, and everything..

0:58 We do what we can so that they will draw closer to Hashem. - Beautiful, well done to you! Well done! - So you are the head of the yeshiva? - No, I am their rabbi, I accompany them. We do things for them, we take them to yeshivos, to rabbis, so that they will gain wisdom in the world of Torah. - Beautiful, very beautiful, well done to them, beautiful.

1:22 - Do they speak Hebrew? - No, Spanish. - I will translate for them. - May the Holy One, blessed be He, give them blessing and success, and a good life and good bounty. Tell them that they are doing the most exalted thing in that they merit to draw closer to Hashem. - And it is a great merit in our generation to lift our eyes to heaven.

2:00 - Tell them that the source of all abundance and good and success and blessing that there is in this world is from a person's closeness to his Creator. - And most important is that they always take care to honor one another, and to help one another, and to feel love for a friend, to want the success of his friend.

2:30 This is the secret of all success in life. - Tell them that they must know and understand that more than they love Hashem, whom they do not know, He loves them and is happy with every smallest thing they do before Him.

3:13 And that they must feel that they are a great part of the Torah, and that they are great tzaddikim. And that they should not feel different and set apart because of their way of life and the place they come from, as if they were coming to another world. They are in the same world, and Hashem is with them just as He is with the greatest tzaddik. - Okay. - And the most important thing that they should take with them, it does not matter what happens to them, is that they never forget to lift their eyes to heaven.

4:06 May their eyes always be on heaven, no matter what happens to them, even if they grow distant.. even if they draw close and then grow distant again, always, may they have every day a moment when they look to the heavens. This is the most important, more than everything. - Tell them that I wish them a good year, and a good writing and sealing for them and all their households, and all their families and all that is theirs, amen.

4:46 - Amen.
