The opening of this shiur, in Sicha Women Shiur - Project Likkutei Sichos’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

this week's on parsha's vayetse and it is a secret that discusses a most fundamental approach to the way we are meant to be in life and it's a delicate subject and so I'm going to preface the core idea now at the outset and then we'll go into the sikha and the idea is that the the that the most important way for a person to approach being in the world is in a state of what's known in Hebrew as Bittle which is a very key word in Hasidic philosophy and also a word which is a delicate word in um not always very easy to um to be able to grasp in its uh in in its in its true intended Manner and so to the best of my ability I'm going to express how I relate to it and that is that Bittle is not when someone um removes themselves from the picture which very often is translated as self nullification but bittel actually means where we remove our egoic self a an identity that we feel the need to create because for some reason we feel worthless without attaching some type of value to ourselves sometimes that will show up as accomplishments or as degrees or as assets all different types of things that we that we use as external means to attribute value to ourself and that all comes from the ego desperately needing to prove itself to the world and Bittle is when a person begins to let go more and more of any type of self-created identity and has their identity simply and purely from the very fact that I am a Divine being
