0:00 Amen, yehei Shemei rabba is personal redemption and general redemption. Every time we say Amen, yehei Shemei rabba, it is both personal redemption and general redemption. That is, if a person needs to bring about some salvation before the Holy One, blessed be He, something he needs before the Holy One, blessed be He, it brings about before the Holy One, blessed be He, a salvation both personal and general. This is written in the Zohar, Noach, page 62b; it is the Zohar, Terumah, page 129b; the Beis Yosef brought it in siman 56.

0:28 And we mentioned yesterday, in Tractate Shabbos, page 119, in the name of Tosafos, that it helps to save all of the Jewish people, in Tractate Sotah, page 49a, in Tractate Berachos, page 3a, in the words of Tosafos. We see that it is important: when a person says Amen, yehei Shemei rabba, his sentence is torn up. And the Chareidim mentioned that there is atonement, several kinds of atonement for a person; one of the atonements he mentioned, the first, is to answer Amen, yehei Shemei rabba; that is one of the kinds of atonement there are to atone for a person's soul.

0:55 When a person says Amen, yehei Shemei rabba with intent, it atones for him. And if a person has atonement, then there is brought about for him before the Holy One, blessed be He, all good and every kind of good, and everything he desires and everything he needs from before the Holy One, blessed be He, if he says Amen, yehei Shemei rabba with intent. So, as we explained, the Abudraham explains that the intent is "with all his strength", and in the view of Rabbeinu Manoach he explains "with all the powers of the soul", and in the view of our master, the author of the Shalmei Tzibbur, Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Algazi, the father of the Maharit Algazi, who lived 300 years ago, who was the Mara D'Ar'a D'Yisrael, the master of the Land of Israel, the intent is to concentrate with all his mind.

1:31 That is, Amen, yehei Shemei rabba: to concentrate with all one's mind. And so too what our master, the Chareidim, wrote in chapter 73, and more. So therefore I say, if a person concentrates with intent every time he says this — a simple and very easy piece of advice: to say Amen, yehei Shemei rabba, intending: may the great Name of the King of the kings of kings... as our master the Manhig wrote in siman 25, Rabbi Avraham bar Nosson, that it is about the matter of the redemption.

1:56 If you concentrate on this and understand that it is about the redemption, and every word, to be focused and not to occupy yourself with anything at the time of answering Amen, to be nullified and still, and to be in awe, with trembling and quaking, answering Amen, yehei Shemei rabba on the great Name of the Holy One, blessed be He, you are able before Hashem to arouse great mercy, to cancel troubles, suffering. And as we said, that even if a person, Heaven forbid, if a person was born under the worst mazal there is, the Amen, yehei Shemei rabba can tear up his sentence, which is what Tosafos say on page 119, that it helps to save the whole Jewish people.

2:32 That is, even if a person has a bad mazal, his mazal can be turned around for the good. If a person was born under a bad mazal, "his mazal has declined", as in Tractate Bava Basra, page 98, where the Gemara says that if a person sees that his wine turned sour, then he should not blame it on the vessels; rather he should attribute it to "his mazal has declined": his mazal is what caused his wine to turn sour. Not because now he did something, put it in this vessel or another.

2:58 His mazal caused this wine to turn into vinegar. So the same applies in such a case, where a person has a mazal that is not good: he should say Amen, yehei Shemei rabba with all his strength, with all his intent; and he should not be busy with work at the time of answering Amen, as the Mishnah Berurah brought in siman 56 that one must be careful at the time of answering Amen, yehei Shemei rabba, that a person not be busy with work, not fold tefillin, nothing. When one says Amen, yehei Shemei rabba, one must be with trembling and quaking, answering with all one's strength. It can tear up a bad mazal, it can turn around a bad mazal, it can cancel troubles, it can bring about salvations, it can bring about miracles, wonders.

3:33 All the abundance and every kind of good can come to a person only in the merit of answering Amen, yehei Shemei rabba.
