give me a second okay we have two torah portions this week the first torah portion is parashat the second torah portion is parashat balak in truth i always wondered why is it that these two portions are always bundled up and buckled up with one another because each of them in their own right has so much to offer so much to teach us and and obviously based on the amount of parshas there are and the amount of weeks there are in the in the year weeks there are in the in the year we sometimes need to bundle some pressures up and these two go together fascinating torque portions we're obviously not going to cover all of them but we got some very very precious gems from the zestimation that we are going to share this evening please god so the first is um just maybe a little introduction to parashat the beginning of prashakrika speaks about the famous red heifer the para aduma which offered as a very special elevation purification process for the jews to get out of their state for the jews to get out of their state of impurity primarily of getting in contact with a dead body the red heifer was slaughtered and the and the ashes were that were taken were mixed with water sprinkled by the coin on on everybody and that's how they elevated um later on in the torah portion that's the major tour a part episode in that tour portion the next part of the torah portion speaks about the unfortunate passing of miriam hanivia
