Welcome to small talk by farm chatter. I'm Naki Weinstein. [Music] On this episode of Small Talk, I'm going to be joined by Dr. Barl Epstein, who is a theoretical physicist at Johns Hopkins Applied Physical Laboratory, Physics Laboratory, and the author of Amuna and Physics, Jewish Resolve, published by Mosaic Press. And uh we'll be discussing that new book. So, thank you, Barl, for joining me. >> Pleasure. Thank you. >> What can you tell the listeners about the book? >> So the premise of Amuna in physics is to categorize and respond directly and rigorously to questions on the Jewish faith and to the counterarguments. These can span philosophy, archaeology and science. Um and so the the bulk of the book I would say is um a chapter called a guide to fully answering questions on Judaism which delves into these areas and and the subcategories. Uh the book also presents a robust framework for amuna. How do you structure something so multiaceted? Um, as part of that, I I do flesh out uh three common arguments, three common arguments for Judaism. Um, as an example really, and I discuss where one might go further in expanding upon them. >> Now, the Oh, sorry. >> I wanted to jump in. So, why you're you're theoretical physicist. Why is this something Amuna physics that you is this something just from your line of work that you decided you're going to write a book about amuna and physics? Um so so really I wanted to um address a a uh false and troubling narrative which is promagated publicly by by some who leave Judaism and that's the idea that
