His family comes from from the Ukraine. His father is not Jewish. Um his mother is a Ukrainian Jewish Jewish secular woman. And uh they ultimately left Ukraine. They moved to Israel and then they relocated to Canada. I said, "How did you I see you with your yarmulke in Yeshiva?" So so how his journey began. So he told me So he told me that uh you know, as he grew up as a Jewish kid. It's very secular, completely secular family. His father not Jewish. His father's a doctor. His mother's a nurse. A good Russian uh career family. And he got into Zen meditation. Which is a practice of many many Jews. 30% of Buddhists in America are Jews. If I'm not mistaken. If I'm not mistaken. So uh And he described to me the meditation techniques that he got involved in. He took it very seriously. And one of the meditations he was doing is about how uh all existence is preceded by awareness. And uh to be able to go into that space. And, from that space if you can really experience it, there's oneness. And, it touched him very deeply. One thing bothered him. He said, "In every meditation that he did, he did this for a very long time, two boxes kept on showing up." Which was the opposite of oneness. Everything was one besides two boxes. And, it drove him crazy. And, he says, "Even when he would finish the meditation, it's a very very normal, intelligent kid, those two, uh, boxes would stay." And, he decided he has to get to the bottom of it because everybody who was
