The shiur in English

The Yanuka’s own words in this shiur, translated into English by Lehallel · 21,518 words · 2:48:27. Press a time to hear it said.

1:10 Rabbi Yechezkel, Rabbi Yechezkel, who took the matters from himself, Rabbi Yechezkel saw his [unclear] and his understanding and his [unclear], opened this beis midrash and conveyed holy Torah to thousands who thirst for it.

1:37 Thousands upon thousands of Torah people said that these teachings [unclear] in their hearts. He is the one who actually opened here the opening for this conference, whose opening we are at, with Hashem's help. So we are honored to invite Rabbi Tzemach, Rabbi Yechezkel Tzeva, to [unclear] the words, an opening and a blessing for the holy gathering of Israel. With honor. - With the permission of all the great rabbis, the esteemed Torah scholars, we gathered here today to thank Hashem, blessed be He, for His mercies and abundant kindnesses that He did with us, and also to ask for the future, with Hashem's help.

2:43 This is the time in which we have the eight days of Chanukah, the hidden light, that Hashem, blessed be He, hid in the holy Torah. Three and a half years ago there was a group of special Torah scholars, seekers of Hashem, who heard about the [unclear] Torah of our teacher and rabbi, the light of Israel and its holy one, the crown of Israel and its glory, when we merited that there is a possibility to receive such a wondrous way of Hashem, they would sit on Motzaei Shabbos Kodesh together, to hear excerpts from the lessons and afterward to expand on the words, to understand them, to delve into them, there was a very great elevation.

3:46 Since then such branches kept opening in several places in the Holy Land, they called it then Nidberu. Afterward, thank G-d, [unclear] this is the heart of a Jew feels what true Torah there is here. Words that revive the soul and illuminate the heart, which is a true dew of revival for every Jew who has a desire to seek the way of Hashem, there was a toil that cannot be described in the production of the [unclear].

4:31 As is known, here there is no court, there is no money, and people took very large loans out of their own pockets to set up the enterprise of the [unclear] and invested such investments. It did not seem logical at all. But Hashem, blessed be He, wanted these precious deeds that were done so much for the sake of Heaven, and from this the light spread throughout the whole world, in several countries at the ends of the earth that long and yearn for these holy [unclear], in which is the Torah of our teacher and rabbi, [unclear].

5:13 It seems, the verse, we know that we are in exile, in great darkness, in which the Jewish people serve Hashem, blessed be He, with a special service of Hashem. We have no Beis HaMikdash, the Holy Temple, but we also have no prophecy. Already at the beginning of the Second Temple, prophecy ceased from Israel, when they nullified the evil inclination of idolatry. The last prophet of the Jewish people was the prophet Malachi, and Hashem, blessed be He, ended the last prophecy that He told us through Malachi, it was: "Then those who fear Hashem spoke, each man to his fellow, and Hashem listened and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear Hashem and those who think of His name."

5:57 The Gemara, the Mishnah, Tractate Avos, chapter 3, expounds this on words of Torah, also in the Gemara, Tractate Berachos, page 6, but in Tractate Shabbos, page 63, the Gemara says that this was said about Torah scholars who engage in halachah and are pleasant to one another. But in the verse it is written, "those who fear Hashem and those who think of His name," what is the meaning? That every word of Torah that is learned, especially if they are pleasant in halachah, is written before Hashem, blessed be He. But the main point of the verse speaks of something else.

6:26 The main point of the verse speaks of when people who toiled in Torah gather together and seek to know what is the purpose of the Torah, what comes out of the Torah, after halachah lema'aseh, what is the way of Hashem. This is what gives Hashem nachas ruach, those who think of His name: what can be done for the honor of Hashem, blessed be He? This is truly the great uniqueness for which we came here today.

6:52 It is so moving that we merited that there is such a thing in the world. Everyone who comes here, everyone who is here, there is nothing here, what is here? Nothing. There is here only to seek the way of Hashem, to learn what Hashem, blessed be He, wants from us. This is exactly this verse, the fulfillment of the verse: "Then those who fear Hashem spoke, each man to his fellow." Whoever knows that for so many years our teacher and rabbi has given his soul for these lessons The main gathering began 15 years ago, in the year 5768, so pure and clean that there is nothing above it.

7:35 How many salvations the Jewish people received from the prayers of our teacher and rabbi, only Torah for its own sake in purity, this is such a wondrous Torah, rooted in strong and firm roots, in completeness. Everyone hears, our teacher and rabbi, the Yanuka, the Yanuka, they come, they see there is nothing, nothing at all.

8:00 Even the Rav is down below, and everyone is above, the Rav lifts everyone up, and there is nothing, no court, no gabbaim, nothing at all. The closer the students are, the more veteran, the more distant they are. You do not see anyone. There is only one thing here, there is nothing here. There is no rabbinate here, no authority, there is only the way of Hashem here. This is what is here.

8:25 And this is the great nachas ruach that there is now before our Father in Heaven, at this great conference, where they gather together to think more thoughts about how to continue onward, with Hashem's help, and to pass this on, with Hashem's help. The situation of the exile is written in the prophet, in Yirmiyahu, chapter 6: "Thus says Hashem: Stand at the crossroads and see, and ask for the ancient paths, which is the good way, and walk in it, and find rest for your souls."

8:53 The prophet says, "and they said, We will not walk." Before the Beis HaMikdash was destroyed, at the time that the Beis HaMikdash stood, the Jewish people were steeped in such delight, such happiness, that cannot be described or estimated. They felt the embrace of Hashem, blessed be He, they were in the hands of Hashem, blessed be He. But before the destruction they already felt that it was going down, it was in stages.

9:19 Hashem, blessed be He, says to them, do you want a solution? Do you want to reach calm, serenity, what everyone is looking for? Get up, seek the way of Hashem. "Rise, stand at the crossroads and see, and ask for the ancient paths, which is the good way." True, they learn Torah, so there was a lot, a lot of Torah. They did not know why the land was lost at all, they did not know. They went, asked, did not understand.

9:45 Hashem, blessed be He, says, you are not seeking where are the ancient paths, what is the way, what do I want, what comes out of all this? What do I require? What do I ask of each one? If you begin to seek, you will already find rest for your souls. The rest comes when a person is on the path of the Tree of Life, when he truly draws near to Hashem, blessed be He. It is written in Parashas Bechukosai the matter of the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash, "and I will break the pride of your might."

10:18 The Beis HaMikdash is called "the pride of your might," Hashem says that He will break it, and so it was. Why is it called "the pride of your might"? It is the pride of the might of the Holy One, blessed be He. Is it "the pride of our might"? Apparently the meaning is that the Jewish people took the Beis HaMikdash as power and personal strength. We will serve Hashem, blessed be He, bring offerings, be in a strong place, so that we will have secure health, so that we will have secure lives, so that we will be heroes, so that we will be strong, so that we will have happiness, so that we will be stronger than all the non-Jews.

10:51 What about the Holy One, blessed be He? What about the completion of Hashem's will? That is not it. They take the Beis HaMikdash as a goal and forget what Hashem truly wants, what comes out of all this? No. The Holy One, blessed be He, says, "and I will break the pride of your might." This is no longer My Beis HaMikdash, this is already your might, it must be broken, so that now, from the way of the exile, you will reach a state where they seek the will of Hashem. The same is true in the learning of the holy Torah. It is known what is written in Tikkunei HaZohar, in several places in the holy Zohar, in the introduction of [unclear] to the holy book Etz Chaim, the one who valued this was the Ramchal, in Derech Etz Chaim, that even if a person learns the entire Torah, all of it,

11:30 he will engage in it without a break day and night and fulfill all the mitzvos, this is not it, what next? What does Hashem, blessed be He, want from you? There is the way of the Tree of Life. Man fell through the Tree of Knowledge and was banished, he must seek the way of the Tree of Life from between the cherubim. He must get up and seek. The Ramchal writes, the language of the Ramchal, "It is an obligation upon a person to set himself to reflect, for if he does not reflect and calculate, wisdom will not come to seek him, and he will remain in darkness, and walk in the ways of vanity and in gloom, and in the end he will give an accounting before the King of the kings of kings, for not using

12:12 the wisdom that was given to him to make strength, and this is the enticement of the [unclear] who strives with all his might to [unclear] him. And of this it is said in the Gemara, "those who rule over their inclination," come, let us calculate, come, let us calculate the account of the world. For those who rule over their inclination will do this thing and teach others to do it. Does not a person spend most of his years thinking about the accounts of his business, and how can he not devote time to think what is the purpose, at least one hour a day of real thought, let him think what he is, why he came into the world, what the King of kings, [unclear] the Holy One, blessed be He, asks of him, what will be the end of his affairs.

12:46 And so he will stand one hour free of all other thoughts to think about this matter, I will seek what the early ones did, the forefathers of the world, that so [unclear] what did Moshe Rabbeinu do, what did David HaMelech do, that the Holy One, blessed be He, loved him so, and I will seek that I too go in this way. And then it will be good for him, and of this it is said, "the secret of Hashem is with those who fear Him," that a person should know why Hashem created all of creation and what Hashem wants. So the Ramchal values this greatly, that is the whole pamphlet Derech Etz Chaim of the Ramchal.

13:11 If a person does not seek what Hashem wants from him, again, his Torah learning becomes personal power, unrelated to Hashem, blessed be He. Therefore the Ramchal wrote the book Mesillas Yesharim, to give the path for the upright that will bring until clinging to Hashem, blessed be He. We do not see ourselves at all to speak anything, and we, what we speak we must speak with awe, and fear, trembling and sweat.

13:52 We are speaking here about true things before Hashem, blessed be He, who is here and hears us. Who are we to say, but our teacher and rabbi, may Hashem protect him and give him life, he is the greatest of the seekers of Hashem who are in the world. Who is like him who gave his soul, gave his whole soul with a devotion beyond investigation or measure, from the moment he opened his eyes, when he came to his own mind at a very, very young age, he would pour out supplications to the Holy One, blessed be He, for hours upon hours, as his father related.

14:35 He had nothing in the world, only books of tzaddikim and holy books. They were in exile in foreign lands, they went from country to country, and all the time he was attached to the holy books. He would wear out his feet, a small child, taking a Gemara from the synagogue, finishing it from cover to cover, exchanging it for another volume. And all this with prayer, with prayer that he would pray for hours with copious tears, and to find what Hashem, blessed be He, wants from him.

15:04 A Jew who knew the Rav told me, fourteen years ago. He said that once after the prayer he hears wailing from the Rav's corner. What does he see? He was alarmed. So the Rav calmed him, said to him, no, it is all right, in total no. The Rav was sitting and learning the book Tanya. So before the Rav began the learning, maybe the 20th, the time [unclear] The Rav was sitting and crying to Hashem [unclear], that He grant him to understand correctly the words of the author.

15:35 Each of our rabbis has a way of Hashem. One must know another way, and another way, and another way, and another way, and afterward what comes out of all of it. Here, how much responsibility there is on the way of Hashem? How much responsibility it is that you teach Torah to a student, you are responsible for him in this world, you are responsible for him in the World to Come, it has countless consequences. Here, how much enormous responsibility our teacher and rabbi has for each and every student, for each and every lesson that he delivered.

16:08 This was delivered with such awe and fear, whoever remembers. One of the [unclear] spoke with us [unclear] about a month ago. What are you doing? Are you trying to publicize? What are you doing?

16:36 "You asked a good question," we told him, "the Rav will hear, two points." One point, there is here holy work that is perfect for the honor of Hashem, blessed be He. What is called learning Torah? Learning Torah is that a person merited to know the light of Hashem, blessed be He, and does not use it, it is forbidden to use words of Torah, the Torah is the light of Hashem, blessed be He, the holiest and most sublime and most exalted thing, only to take it cleanly and precisely and pass it on to everyone, as Hashem, blessed be He, is good and does good to all.

17:16 This is the depth of learning the holy Torah and this is what is here. Jews who are dear, seekers of Hashem, merited to draw life from the Torah of our teacher and rabbi, they see how much it is light for the soul, how much absolute truth there is here, and they want to give others the merit. There is nothing, to pass on this great light without any other purpose, without any benefit, there is no money here, there is nothing, nothing, nothing, everything is truly for Heaven's sake, and therefore it succeeds, thank G-d.

17:47 We know how many from the whole world send so many regards, people only hear the pure voice of our teacher and rabbi, a tzaddik, foundation of the world, and return in complete teshuvah from everything, without understanding anything. There is here a movement of true worldwide teshuvah, as Rabbeinu Yisrael, the holy Baal Shem Tov, says, that there is no connection at all to bring back in teshuvah truly, only through attachment to the greats of Israel, of the aspect of the soul of Moshe Rabbeinu.

18:18 A person who sinned and was cut off from his upper root, how will he do teshuvah? Try to lift him, afterward he will fall. That is not true teshuvah. Someone must tie him, his soul, to its upper root. Only the greats of Israel can do this. So the Me'or VaShemesh elaborates on this in his entire book, and many times in the name of the holy Rebbe, Rabbi Elimelech, and all the holy tzaddikim. And this is what is happening here.

18:45 We received so many people from outside the Land who connect. People came from outside the Land only to see the Rav, to merit seeing the great light that they received. They came and returned, saw and returned, that is all. There is here a true dew of revival after true learning of Torah for its own sake, of the entire Torah. The entire Torah. And this is a great light that the Jewish people have.

19:12 That is the first point, to take this light and pass it on. The second thing that is here, I will try to hurry, the second thing is the matter of the honor of the Torah. Hashem, blessed be He, commanded us about the honor of the Torah. Thank G-d, we know here all those who engage in the holy work. For four years we have known everything, we know the whole system here from the beginning to the end.

19:44 There is here the least of the least of what is obligated by the law of the holy Torah. We know how much Torah there is here. There is here a tzaddik, holy of holies, whose pure heart is like the Tablets of the Covenant, the whole Torah engraved on his pure heart, who learned it with self-sacrifice, vomited blood over the holy Torah, literally, did not see sleep with his eyes, did not go up on his bed for many years, gave his soul for the Torah, it is unbelievable, what toil of Torah, without eating, without drinking, through terrible, terrible suffering, the Rav would lose consciousness in the middle of the learning, from the great toil of the Torah, wakes up and continues learning because he did not read anything.

20:34 What perfections of the soul of pure fear of Hashem, and love of Hashem, and attainments of the greatness of Hashem, it is unbelievable! It cannot be believed even when told. How little we have of the least of the honor of the Torah that Hashem, blessed be He, demands of us. Once, I did not want to say this yet, but well, from Heaven, maybe so, once we heard, I heard from a trustworthy witness who heard from the holy mouth of our teacher the Rav Ben Zion Abba Shaul, head of Yeshivas Porat Yosef, who was a giant among giants.

21:09 Whoever knows, in the year 5743, 5744, there was a great blow to the Jewish people, there passed away ten great ones of the world, giants among giants, Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi, Rabbi Meir Shalom Avihatzira, Rabba Meir, Rabbi Avsali, ten giants, there was great darkness in the world, there was terrible dread. Our teacher and rabbi the Rav Ben Zion said, why did all this happen? He says, before that, in the year 5743, there was a desecration of the honor of the Torah, an incident that happened with Maran Rabbeinu Ovadia Yosef, peace be upon him.

21:41 He said, and [unclear] did not protest for the honor of the Torah, his pure heart was deeply, deeply hurt, and such decrees were made in Heaven that there was no choice, only that ten giants pass away, giants among giants, to atone for this, may Hashem protect. Heaven forbid, everything is good and everything... How important this matter of honor of the Torah is, how much it cancels decrees from the Jewish people, and this is what Hashem, blessed be He, wants from us, and here we try to do the least of the least.

22:12 For the Rav's knowledge of Torah there is no need to speak about it, these are things that the Rav hid all the years. Last week a young married Torah student spoke with me, a very important Torah scholar, who dealt a great deal with the laws of Shabbos, for years upon years. He told me, he sat with the Rav a whole hour about his book. The Rav was so exhausted from receiving the public, he was already dozing off, and the Rav sits with him with self-sacrifice, and sits with him on this and on this and on this. For a whole hour the Rav opened with him all the sugyos without any book.

22:40 All the responsa, everything, and the Rav does not want to tell him which responsa. He says responsa, which siman, pressed, said Responsa Sho'el U'Meshiv Telita, Telita, the Rav said to him, there are many Telita, it is a big book, said to him part 3, part 3 has several simanim, said to him siman 3, every detail he extracted like this with effort, it was needed, he got home, opened all the responsa, there is no book in which the Rav was not precise, all the responsa, who even learned Sho'el U'Meshiv, all by heart, all the responsa.

23:10 There is no book in the world that the Rav brings into the library without having learned it from cover to cover. What Torah there is here! What seeking! All this out of true seeking to know what is the purpose of all this. I spoke with Rabbi Gidon Atiya a few years ago. He authored several important books, Kevi'a Kesef and more. He said, we spoke with the Rav about words of Torah, there is no topic that the Rav did not sail through from the beginning to the end.

23:40 All the commentators, all the questions, all the answers, everything is laid out and everything is by heart. That is, like a leviathan that swims in the great sea. Nothing is hidden from him. And all in humility, the Rav hides everything. All the years the Rav does not show this. One sits here with us in the audience, one of the friends of youth, with whom we met together. There are several friends here who took trouble and toiled to serve the Sages, to seek the way of Hashem.

24:09 We met with many greats of Israel, peace be upon them, and they merited to come before me. But one of them is here, he tells a story from fourteen years ago. He would go to the library in Givat Ram, would print out a page from old responsa, rare ones, that exist only in the library.

24:39 And after the lesson he asks the Rav a question gently, what does the Rav say about this? So the Rav says to him yes, my brother, explains it to him, it is written in this book and this one. No, he saw that there is no book that the Rav does not know by heart, this was fourteen years ago. And then he decided, that is it, I have arrived at the place. Here it is fitting to receive the way of Hashem. Since then we have much hand and share in all the holy way, fortunate is his portion.

25:07 And like all the students, modest, they do not see him, they do not even know who he is, everything behind the scenes, everything for Heaven's sake and purity. Our teacher and rabbi came to Jerusalem already 13 years ago, whoever remembers, there were lessons in Neve Yaakov, in the Knesses [unclear], in several places, in Ramat Shlomo.

25:38 We too heard then about the lessons, and there was a great stir in the world that there is a holy tzaddik, supreme, awesome and exalted holy, who delivers words as given from Sinai, you feel that the Shechinah is speaking from his throat. Truly, whoever seeks truth, one can give him a little from the lessons, from the recordings from the past. To see what this is, what words. The Rav guarded this, the Rav's will be done, that only people who want to do the will of Hashem gather.

26:09 To clarify the will of Hashem, to hear in the lessons and so on. Although we merited that four years ago already the Holy One, blessed be He, [unclear] and this light began to shine in the whole world. During these four years a very, very great burden of the Jewish people fell on the Rav, who run after him everywhere. The Rav has no rest, the Rav has no rest. I know that one told us, one of the Rav's household, the Rav hardly eats, and until he sits to eat, he has the few minutes that he has, he receives another note and another note and another case.

26:44 The tears fall with the food, and so the Rav sits and eats like this with tears. And the holy heart of the Rav breaks into pieces, hearing all the troubles of the Jewish people. Every week, seven, eight hours of receiving the public, and also people push in during the week, people from everywhere jump in and seek and receive. The Rav receives names for blessing every day without a break, from all kinds of places that arrive, they send by email, and all kinds... How can one withstand this? A normal person could not live like this.

27:14 The Rav is in pain. After the Meron disaster [unclear] There was not, how the Rav takes it hard, his pure heart bears the burden of the Jewish people. Who can withstand such things? What does the Rav do today? Only every Jew who comes, to illuminate his life and soul.

27:39 And so do the students who [unclear] from the Rav's way, thank G-d. to illuminate another soul of a Jew, to breathe a spirit of life and hope. The Rav, when authors of books come to the Rav, how happy the Rav is and [unclear] hope, and then they also see that the Rav knows their book by heart more than they know it. There is a responsum of the Rambam, the Rambam, which is to hurry, with Hashem's help, that we not [unclear] to the public, the Rambam in a responsum, siman 323, was asked a question.

28:17 One who teaches small children in the city, and one dayan in that city came to him, he says to him, I do not permit you to teach. Did you ask me for permission? He says to him, what, it is written in the Gemara, "the jealousy of scribes increases wisdom." He said to him, but I am greater than you in Torah, a little. You may not teach without my permission. The Rambam says, if he is like him in knowledge of Torah, he does not owe him anything. But if he is a little greater than him in knowledge of Torah, he may not without his permission.

28:46 The Rambam says, the purpose of, and if he will teach Torah, he has no fear of Heaven, and his Torah is worth nothing. The purpose of the Torah is fear of Heaven. And the Holy One, blessed be He, told us, "the fear of your teacher is like the fear of Heaven," even if he is greater than you in knowledge of Torah by a little. Awesome things that the Rambam writes as practical halachah, this is great dread. And anyone who spreads Torah outside of this way and these conditions has incurred public excommunication, what the Rambam writes there, he may not speak before one who is greater than him in wisdom.

29:16 What fear of Heaven the Rambam had. And these are matters that are connected to practical halachah. to know what honor of the Torah Hashem, blessed be He, demands of us, when seeing such Torah. In the book Ruach Chaim on Tractate Avos by Rabbi Chaim Volozhin, in chapter 1, he writes: Moshe Rabbeinu merited the Torah only through the humility he had above every person, and if a person will be humble like Moshe, he will merit the Torah like Moshe.

29:49 This, we have heard this many times, and these are astonishing things, we do not see fit to say, nor do we intend to say, but we see the humility beyond all human comprehension of our teacher and master. What is it to elevate a Jewish voice, the Rabbi begins a [unclear] lecture, things that anyone who truly seeks truth comes to see, and sees there are no, no, no such noble traits.

30:16 What are the perfections of the soul? What is it, what is it? A wonder of wonders. It is not for nothing that the Holy One, blessed be He, gave him the Torah as a gift, of course with toil, with effort, and from all this to bring out the way of Hashem, truth in its truth. One of the things that those who seek Hashem are very moved by in the Torah of our teacher and master is the combination of all the approaches and paths. Thank Hashem, we merited many. Thank Hashem, each one remembers that he had great rabbis, tzaddikim, from whom he received Torah, and he owes them his life and gratitude.

30:47 To the one who taught him Torah and wisdom, who set him on the straight line, thank Hashem. But we have a hard problem in this generation. You have one path and another path... Once everyone lived in his own land, he had his rabbi, whatever Hashem gave him, and that's it. That was his portion. But today, what can you say? Everyone knows more approaches and more paths. How can you say? How can you take responsibility? How do you know what is good? How many seekers of Hashem toiled and labored and struggled over this matter, and thank Hashem, they arrived and found it here, that the Holy One, blessed be He, gave us one heart and one way, as it is written in the prophet Yirmiyahu, that our teacher and master merited to combine what comes out of all the approaches and all the paths.

31:29 What great joy and thanks to Hashem, blessed be He. Our teacher and master merited that the whole Torah is clear to him. The whole Torah is clear to him. They sit with the Rabbi with questions. Dozens of judges have already come and outstanding rabbis sat with the Rabbi on difficult topics. In all parts of the Torah, in Choshen Mishpat, in Even HaEzer, in genealogy, and they saw that the Rabbi has no doubt at all, he spreads out the matters like a garment, and rules practical halachah without any books, like a true Torah scholar, also in Kodashim and Taharos, also in the laws of impurity and purity, the Beis HaMikdash, all matters, everything is [unclear] to them.

32:11 This we know, that also in the hidden Torah, we did not merit it, but it is known, the head of a kabbalah kollel told me that he was engaged in Kabbalah for twenty years. He comes to the Rabbi, there is no... all the difficulties they have, there are no difficulties, no contradictions at all, everything, everything is clear. There is no Kabbalah book that the Rabbi does not know clearly. All the paths of the Torah, and this was already known to us also before, sixteen and seventeen years ago, when the Rabbi gave shiurim, people would come from sixty, righteous and holy people, aged ninety and eighty, they would sit before him like a student before his teacher, after they saw his knowledge of Torah, especially in matters of Kabbalah, which is beyond, unbelievable, what clarity of the holy Torah.

32:55 All this, seeing this Torah, we pray to the Holy One, blessed be He, that we truly merit to know what Hashem's will is that is required of us. Let us conclude with one thing. There is what we said, let us go a bit deeper into it, that a person draws close to the Holy One, blessed be He, as the Rabbi said, Hashem, blessed be He, is the power that is the greatest, greatest, greatest that can be in the world. There is no greater power than the Holy One, blessed be He.

33:31 What does Hashem, blessed be He, want from us in the Torah, in the mitzvos? Hashem, blessed be He, again, does not want power. He does not want force. Hashem, blessed be He, wants you to learn from Him a way to reach perfection. The Torah and the mitzvos are a revelation that Hashem, blessed be He, revealed to us with love, what are His ways? That whoever fulfills them and deepens in them and fulfills them in their inner meaning, will draw close and draw close and will also reach perfection.

34:05 This is the Torah of our teacher and master. There is no power here at all, no force. Sometimes people make honor of the Torah the way it was for many generations, and that was not the honor of the Torah. It was at the expense of another honor of the Torah. It was what not to honor, what not to listen to. In the end a person wanted to feel that he is in the strongest place, the safest, in order to feel power.

34:32 Therefore they made imaginings of the honor of the Torah. Torah is only guidance on the way, practical halachah. And this is what we merit to see, thank Hashem, with our teacher and master. [unclear] something here wondrous, only to receive the way of Hashem, to take the matters and run with them to Hashem, blessed be He. You see nothing, there is nothing here, there is no entity here. Nothing, nothing. There are only true words of Torah here, truth in its truth, of a pure Jewish heart, feels, here is the truth.

35:03 Here is [unclear] rest for your souls, that which will lead us to the way of the Tree of Life, that is what is here. And then the closeness will be closeness to Hashem, blessed be He, they do not make of the Rabbi something personal, Heaven forbid, they do not make of the Beis HaMikdash something personal, they do not make of the Torah something personal, it is all just to draw close to Hashem, Hashem, blessed be He, wants to teach us the ways of perfection, that each and every one, that all of us should merit. With Hashem's help, as we merited to get to know this light, that we merit to pass it on, to every seeker of Hashem, to just open the eyes, so that every seeker of Hashem knows that we merited, and we are happy, we thank the Holy One, blessed be He.

35:39 May it be the will that the Holy One, blessed be He, [unclear] our teacher and master, heal him with a complete healing, strengthen him and give him courage and make him successful in all the holy work, for the sake of His blessed name, and may we all merit to know what Hashem, blessed be He, wants from us, after we merited to become acquainted with this great light and to use it correctly, not as power, but to take the light to complete Hashem's will and to merit onward for the sake of Heaven in purity and cleanliness as it has been here until today and as it is here in utmost cleanliness and purity, may it continue onward and onward more and more for the benefit of all of the House of Israel and the earth shall be filled with knowledge of Hashem as the waters cover the sea.

36:17 And may it be the will that there truly be contentment of spirit for the Holy One, blessed be He, from this whole gathering that every Jew of our brothers of the House of Israel who comes here and who will hear the words [unclear] also [unclear] Hashem [unclear] in all that he needs in the best way, all the salvations that they need will be drawn to the people of Israel in the merit of this holy Torah and so may it be His will, and let us say Amen. - [unclear] Amen, my teachers and gentlemen, let us hear them together We will now have the honor of inviting the Gaon Rabbi [unclear] head of Yeshivas Or Chaim in Jerusalem Whoever remembers the last convention in which Rabbi [unclear] spoke with great emotion and described the words that he heard from the Rabbi,

41:06 how it caused him an opening of the heart. One does not say a person's praise in his presence, but Rabbi [unclear], a Torah scholar head and shoulders above, tells that he heard Torah from the Rabbi, what grabbed him, it was not that he flew through Shibbolei HaLeket the Rashba and the Ritva and all the responsa that flew through the Shas. What grabbed him was that this Torah caused him to feel something. Whoever was there at that shiur where Rabbi [unclear] poured out his soul and his heart before the public will understand what this is about.

41:38 So, Rabbi [unclear], with honor. - My teachers and gentlemen, I am a little afraid of [unclear] the public, fear of the public.

42:13 May it be the will, with Hashem's help, blessed be He, that I not stumble. I am not so prepared in the words. I have a lot to say, but not so organized. When I was younger, about 18 years ago, I remember hearing that there is a synagogue in Holon, where there is a young man, something wondrous who knows the whole Torah entirely, everywhere he speaks, everywhere they ask him and he answers.

42:51 I said in my heart, would that and how will I get to him in Holon? I almost never travel by bus, and outside the city yet, Blessed be Hashem, Hashem, as they say, took me, sent me a Jew who was saved, special children of the Rabbi, he is my chavrusa here in Torah.

43:21 He said to me, come see, come travel to some Rishon LeTzion, see something wondrous, see something wondrous. And I wandered around there, asked people, what, what? Each one told me a wondrous story, I tell you, I said to them, how are you calm, how do you not dance, how do you not cry, what is this phenomenon? Astonishment, astonishment.

43:48 After that the Rabbi came in, what humility and what grace, the first shiur I heard from him, about two hours, I don't know to this day whether to cry or to rejoice, or how to be moved, with every shiur anew. And the last shiur, which was in Beitar, I tell you, whoever was not there, did not see the scene of the giving of the Torah.

44:17 Such abyssal seriousness, such holiness and purity. The Rabbi spoke about clear prayer before Hashem, blessed be He. All prayer about self-sacrifice to completely nullify oneself to the Holy One, blessed be He, to want to die for the sanctification of Hashem, the Rabbi spoke. And through this, wherever there is self-sacrifice, they merit a miracle, as there was at Chanukah.

44:46 So let us say something about Chanukah, it is written in the She'iltos of Rav Achai Gaon. In the time of the Hasmoneans the people of Israel were in great fear and dread. They were afraid of the Greeks, and they all returned in teshuvah before the Holy One, blessed be He.

45:12 And they pursued acts of kindness and engaged in Torah day and night. So it is written here that the She'iltos of Rav Achai Gaon, he is one of the Geonim after the Rabbanan Savoraim, after the Amoraim, many, many years ago, writes that in the time of the Hasmoneans they all returned in teshuvah before the Holy One, blessed be He. That is, the miracle of Chanukah is a return in teshuvah.

45:41 that they merited to return in teshuvah before the Holy One, blessed be He, and then the self-sacrifice of the Hasmoneans began, and we merited a miracle, the miracle of Chanukah. Also in the Bayis Chadash, in the laws of Chanukah, he writes that because they were lax in the service, the service of the offerings and the service of the Beis HaMikdash, they lost the Beis HaMikdash. And when they returned in teshuvah and gave their lives for the service, then they again merited the miracle of Chanukah, the menorah of the Beis HaMikdash.

46:16 So we also see that the matter of Chanukah begins with return in teshuvah. My teachers and gentlemen, in order to merit redemption, the light of the redemption, we must, the Holy One, blessed be He, promises that the people of Israel will return in teshuvah before the redemption. So it is written in the Ramban, If your dispersed will be at the end of the heavens, from there Hashem your G-d will gather you, from there.

46:41 All the verses there speak of teshuvah that the Holy One, blessed be He, promises that the people of Israel will return in teshuvah. Gentlemen, who will bring us back in teshuvah? Who will bring us back? Will we wait for Mashiach or return in teshuvah before that, so that we are ready? Gentlemen and gentlemen, it seems as Rabbi Tzemach, Yechezkel Tzemach, the greatest of the Rabbi's students, a genius of the world, who edits the Rabbi's shiurim in a most brilliant way, already said here there is going to be a teshuvah movement, a new movement.

47:21 A movement of a movement, to return to the Holy One, blessed be He, to run to the Holy One, blessed be He, with the words of Torah of the Rabbi. It is written in the verse, For a mitzvah is a lamp and Torah is light, the Gemara in Shabbos says, one who is regular with a lamp, says Rashi, a Chanukah lamp and a Shabbos lamp, will have sons who are Torah scholars. Rashi says, why? Because it is written, For a mitzvah is a lamp and Torah is light, through the lamp of the mitzvah of Shabbos and of Chanukah, he merits Torah light.

47:54 My teachers and gentlemen, we are at the level, The lamp of Hashem is the soul of man. we are at the level of a lamp, a lamp of Hashem, the soul of man. As is known, at every shiur the Rabbi says, the Rabbi is moved anew by the souls that he sees, and all those who listen, who come to listen, he sees that their lamp is lit, and then he merits, he brings merit to the many, and pours out light of Torah, light, it is enormous quantities, it is immense depth, it is height, it is depth.

48:37 It is impossible to describe. A person always speaks, from the first man until the Beis HaMikdash that will be built speedily in our days. The Rabbi sees in his Torah from the end of the world to its end, and mainly what the Rabbi wants. The Rabbi says, like the first man, when on Friday, he said, Hashem reigns, He is robed in majesty, he said, he saw the animals, the beasts, everything that Hashem created, he said to them, come and let us crown the Holy One, blessed be He, over us as King.

49:20 The first man's role is to crown all of Creation, that all of Creation should be a chariot for the Shechinah, a chariot for the Shechinah. And this is the power of the Rabbi and the greatness of the Rabbi. And the siyata d'Shmaya that the Rabbi has, that everyone who leaves his talk merits humility, lowliness, to feel that his only role is to be a servant of the Holy One, blessed be He, and to return to the Holy One, blessed be He, in teshuvah from the moment he wakes until the moment he sleeps, and also in the middle of the night the Rabbi speaks about Tikkun Chatzos, the Shema on the bed, yes, we have to finish.

50:02 So truly may we merit to receive from the Rabbi, all of us together, to be students of the Rabbi, and to return in complete teshuvah and draw close to the Holy One, blessed be He, and may we merit the light of the redemption very soon. Thank you very much. - Yasher koach the Gaon Rabbi [unclear], shlita, on his words. As is known, the holy Baal Shem Tov wanted to call the movement that he established, he did not want to call it the Chassidic movement, but the movement of baalei teshuvah.

50:38 I don't know how that would be received today if everyone heard 'baalei teshuvah,' but that is how he wanted it. Rabbi [unclear] says that this exists today, that it is in essence to take the whole place and return it to the central point of the Creator. We will have the honor of inviting the Gaon Rabbi Ravid Nagar, shlita, who is the rabbi of the organization Or LaNoar, which brings tens of thousands of boys and families close to the Creator, blessed be He.

51:12 He also merited that the Rabbi once came to a convention in Rechovot, right? In Rechovot. The Rabbi spoke there about youth, such moving things. It has been maybe two years, a year and a half. And the things the Rabbi said there were engraved in my heart. The Rabbi simply spoke to the youth heart to heart, but the most [unclear] but the simplest words.

51:36 And it touched, it seems to me, the extremes who were there, from great Torah scholars to people who are just beginning, they felt that same point. So Rabbi Ravid Nagar, who merited to draw close to the Rabbi a lot, we will merit to hear from him also a few words. With honor. - Hello everyone.

52:09 I ask forgiveness that I, the small one, speak here before you, for the sake of Rabbi Yaakov, for the sake of Rabbi Tzioner, all the rabbis. I am not a rabbi of a beis din, I am not a judge and I am not a halachic authority, I am a simple person from Rechovot. And I think that the Holy One, blessed be He, caused us to draw close to the Rabbi for one simple reason.

52:36 My teacher used to say, my teacher Uzi Azulai, son of Tziona and David, grandson of my teacher Chaim Silmani, the memory of a righteous and holy man for a blessing, if a person has an inner longing to cleave to a tzaddik and he does true self-sacrifice, the Holy One, blessed be He, directs him to the one he needs to cleave to, by himself. There are many rabbis in the people of Israel, many tzaddikim in the people of Israel, Israel is not widowed, thank Hashem.

53:09 And the Holy One, blessed be He, directs each and every one of us exactly to his place, according to his level, according to his wishes and his longings. We merited that the Holy One, blessed be He, connected us to such a soul, immense on the one hand and simple on the other. We were at the second hakafos with the Rabbi, and I was embarrassed to go into all the crowds, I stood to the side and said, we will circle from afar.

53:44 And the Rabbi stopped and came close to me and pulled me to him, he says to me, did you come for me? I came for you, and I did not know how to react, and he hugged me, said to me, do you want me to show you writings of the [unclear]? Shall I show you writings of my teacher Chaim Sinuani? The Rabbi does not know me. And he began to dance with me, I will not forget it, because I walked in reverse. The Rabbi ran forward and I ran backward, I will not forget it.

54:11 So that was ten, twenty turns. And he hugged us and brought us close as if we were truly his sons. And since then a connection was formed, and the dear [unclear], Yitzchak Chen, pulled us inward to the holy. Tell the Rabbi that you want him to come to you in Rechovot. I said to him, no, he is not going to come to me. I have no organization, I am not some rabbi, some Admor, some av beis din, I am a simple person.

54:37 Tell the Rabbi that you want him to come to you in Rechovot, he will come to you in Rechovot. I spoke with the attendants, they said, listen, no chance, he has five thousand invitations. And then I said, I will try. I said to the Rabbi, Rabbi, I do not have much money, I do not have many titles of honor, but I have hundreds of youth who, I don't know why they listen to me, but they listen to me.

55:04 I want you to come to Rechovot. And the Rabbi said, talk to the attendants. I spoke with the attendants, he said, listen, everyone wants. So Yitzchak said to me, go in again, tell him that you want. And I went in and said, Rabbi, Rabbi, I want you to come to Rechovot. He said to me, how long do you want me to come to Rechovot? I said to him, as much as you want, honored Rabbi.

55:29 A quarter of an hour, good? I said to him, even five minutes is good. In the end the Rabbi came for an hour, an hour and a half, I think, and niggunim, and joy, and over a thousand people, I ordered 500 disposable chairs, over a thousand people were there, and great joy, and not only that, my mother, peace be upon her, I am the atonement for her resting place, was not feeling well.

55:55 And I wanted to ask the Rabbi to come and give a blessing. So the Rabbi said to me, I will come to you at home. So Shmuel says to me, what is 'at home'? The Rabbi has to get to Rishon, but the Rabbi said that he will come home. No, no, he does not go to people's homes. So the Rabbi says to me in this language, today I am your guest, whatever you ask of me I will do. One-thirty at night, late, the lecture had already ended, the Rabbi blessed everyone, and the Rabbi asks Shmuel, Shmuel, may Hashem guard him and give him life, it is an opportunity also to say to Shmuel thanks for all that he does day and night, that [unclear] the wishes of his heart for good.

56:36 And the Rabbi says to Shmuel, take me to the home of Ravid Nagar. They arrive at the house, and the door closes, and the Rabbi sits with my father, may Hashem guard him and give him life, and with my mother, peace be upon her, and listens to them, and encourages them, and speaks in their praise. And it was simply chilling to see such a thing. My mother cried, I will not forget it. But I did not come to speak about my family, I came to speak about the Rabbi.

57:04 So I will say something, a nice idea. It is written, You shall tread upon the lion and the viper, you shall trample the young lion and the serpent. Who can defeat the evil inclination? Forgive me, most of the people here and the honored rabbis do not know the terms that I will mention now. But all the angels of destruction are now outside. Internet, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Telegram, Instagram, Twitter, we won't elaborate.

57:34 Today to take a boy of 14, 15 and cause him to fall in love with Torah, or to cause him to look like a ben Torah, or to be a ben Torah, or to leave the device, the chance is almost zero. And the Rabbi does this without effort. Ask how. What is a tzaddik? A tzaddik is a person to whom, by the power of simplicity and humility, people cling like a magnet, wherever the Rabbi goes.

58:02 He does not need titles. In Yemen, when they wanted to sell a sick donkey, they would put a rug on it, and put gold on it. Why? Because it is sick, so you have to give it titles. The Rabbi, the Gaon, the Mekubal, the mighty, the divine. But if the donkey was healthy, then if it is the donkey, take it and go. To differentiate a thousand thousand distinctions, the Yanuka does not need the titles. We give him titles. He does not need these titles of honor. By the very fact that somehow the Rabbi opens his mouth, everyone is silent. When I speak, people talk with me in the audience. Why?

58:33 I am a simple person. But look what happens when the Yanuka speaks. Everyone in exemplary quiet waits to hear what comes out of his mouth. Yehudah comes and stands next to Yosef the tzaddik. He does not know that it is Yosef. What does he say to him? Please, my lord. What is 'bi adoni' according to Chassidus? The holy brothers did not know what the outside world was, they had no internet, WhatsApp, Snapchat, all the evil ailments, they did not have.

59:01 They served Hashem in the field, They [unclear] the animals with holy names and tunes. My dear brothers, when they see Yosef, the king, they cannot understand how one can teach spirituality and survive spiritually within all the physicality of Egypt. And then an amazing thing happens, my dear and beloved brothers, and then an amazing thing happens, What is "Bi adoni"?

59:31 Two possibilities. "If only what you do were upon me, 'Bi adoni.'" And so when we bless the children, we say, "May G-d make you" like Ephraim and Manasseh, who were within the forty-nine gates of impurity and succeeded through it all. And second, "Bi adoni," focus on me. When I want to strengthen someone, I need to focus on him with influence, and that is what the Rav does.

59:57 The Rav could sit day and night at home and make another siyum and another siyum. When Rabbi [unclear] wanted to make a siyum, the Rav objected, he did not want to. What do I need this for? For the honor of the Torah. For the honor of the Torah. But from the Rav's point of view, to stay home and learn Torah and protect the Jewish people. May it be the will of our Father in Heaven. When we merit, it is written, "and your eyes shall see your Teacher," says [unclear], "your eyes" is earth, "see" is wind, "et" is fire, "your Teacher" is water.

1:00:29 When one looks at a tzaddik, a true tzaddik, he influences you directly on the four elements, and you become a different person. I want to bless, in the merit of the candles and this holy time. It is written in Tehillim, chapter 80, verse 15, "and attend to this vine," today is an auspicious time for the remembrance of barren women. And who is like us, the Jewish people, the great barren one? May it be the will that it be fulfilled "Sing, O barren one who has not borne," "burst into song and rejoice, you who have not been in labor."

1:01:00 May it be the will that we merit redemption with mercy, "for Israel is not widowed," and may we merit that, with Hashem's help, the Holy One, blessed be He, will have pity and compassion on us. We see what is happening in the world, and may He send us the redemption with mercy, and not through [unclear] and wars and disasters, but out of love and brotherhood, peace and friendship, exactly as the Rav does. Thank you very much. Oh, one small thing, I brought something with me, I forgot to show you. When I announced to my students that I am going to the Rav, I said, whoever wants to take on some commitment, to strengthen himself in something, should take on some commitment.

1:01:34 Excuse me, with all due respect. We sent them a link. What can you do, to get someone out of the mud you have to go into the mud. In two hours, in two hours, I have here over 4,000 commitments from students, I can show you, over 4,000 commitments, in two hours, it is still working and continuing, in two hours, I only said that I am going to the Yanuka, to bring him a list of names, Shabbos observance, tzitzis, I am going up to a midrasha, two hours, I did not even exert myself, I did not have to give a sermon, I am going to the Yanuka, whoever wants to take on a commitment and a blessing, just like that, over three thousand, now it has reached seven thousand, someone told me they are connected.

1:02:15 I am only with three thousand children, teenagers, who took on commitments. There is no need to pressure them, to threaten them, to frighten them. Only to love them. And that is what the Yanuka does. He does not frighten, he does not threaten, he does not say, whoever does not do, will have Gehinnom or kares. He simply says, Hashem loves you, Hashem loves every Jew, please, do not hurt any Jew, and may it be the will that we have great abundance.

1:02:49 - Yasher koach to Rabbi Ravid Nagar, shlita, for the words that come from the heart, for the enormous and widespread activity with the youth, that a word or two with the Rav turns people's hearts into a reality of devekus together with the Creator, blessed be He. "This was from Hashem, it is wondrous in our eyes."

1:03:19 We are at a conference of Zos Chanukah, when the Rebbe of Ruzhin used to say that what tzaddikim can accomplish on Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur, every simple Jew can on Zos Chanukah. We have all gathered here together for the honor of the Torah and for the honor of Hashem, blessed be He. It is no secret that so many, many people are so thirsty to hear the Rav, and it is almost impossible.

1:03:51 There are shiurim from time to time in which he gives his words and everyone is so expectant. What do they want so much to come to the Rav for? What happened? The Gemara is the same Gemara, The Rav is not skilled in marvelous rhetoric, and the Shulchan Aruch is the same Shulchan Aruch, and the Rashba is the same Rashba. Someone will come and say, perhaps he comes to hear immense genius.

1:04:16 We have found geniuses. And whoever comes only to hear genius, that too usually breaks his heart, I am not like that. There is something else that people come to hear the Rav for. It is the same Gemara, it is the same Shulchan Aruch, but it is not the same Gemara and not the same Shulchan Aruch at all. I have met hundreds and thousands of people who told me that they could listen to the Rav for five minutes and begin to cry.

1:04:47 What does crying have to do with it? People cry at Tehillim, people cry on Rosh Hashanah, people cry on Yom Kippur, people cry in the Shemoneh Esrei prayer. Since when does someone cry at "Abaye said, Rava said"? I remember that once we pressed the Rav, I was with him at a private event about two and a half, three years ago, and the Rav, I was with him to the side, I said to him, Rav, really in tears, I said to him, Rav, how does one merit what the Rav merited?

1:05:15 I want to know the Torah the way the Rav knows it. So he started to tell me, review the Gemara, review that, I said to him, Rav, come on, everyone talks about review and review, what is the story? Give me the point. The Rav did not say. The Rav made a niggun, and then again, and then finally the Rav said, know that I cried in Gemara much more than I cried in Tehillim.

1:05:44 I cried in Gemara much more than I cried in Tehillim, and the Rav cried in Tehillim. It is not the same Shulchan Aruch, it is not the same Gemara. When a person learns "Amar Abaye," he learns the laws of meat and milk, he begins to shed tears, what are you crying about? The laws of forbidden and permitted, what are you crying about? "Barei veshema," what are you crying about? When barei is preferable, you cry? Yes, when barei is preferable, I cry.

1:06:10 Because "barei is preferable" is G-dliness, it is the Holy One, blessed be He, right here inside. He and His wisdom are one. This is a different Torah. For this we gathered here. To know how to convey not the knowledge of the Torah, but the form of the Torah, the manner of the Torah, the holiness within the Torah, we are honored to invite the Gaon Rabbi Katanov, shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Sicha HaTalmud, who imparts a special path to the bochurim of his yeshiva, and one of the great educators of yeshiva bochurim in this generation, who also merited and drew close to the Rav a great deal, and [unclear].

1:07:12 - If we wish to appreciate a little and to describe the greatness of our teacher the Rav, shlita, in knowledge of the Torah, in his command of all fields of Torah, in pshat, remez, derash and sod, I do not know if we have the ability or the permission to do so, because to testify to the greatness of a person in a certain matter one must be at least like him.

1:07:45 Regarding the Rav's wonders, things that have already gone out about them to the whole world, and everywhere people see, hear and talk about it. Two weeks ago I was with the Rav with a family member, whose daughter was found to have a certain medical problem, and the parents call me with tears on their cheeks and ask that I bring in the father to the honor of the Rav.

1:08:19 I brought him in, after a few minutes in which the Rav read the letter and asked questions that seemed, apparently, unrelated to the matter about which he was asked, he sent us off in peace almost without addressing the request of the father, who was weeping and worried about the fate of his daughter.

1:08:48 The father went out completely embittered and said to me, I must go in to the Rav once more, I must ask for a blessing once more. I noticed that the Rav was focused on other matters. To bring you in a second time is not a simple story. The Rav knows what he is doing. He went out embittered, with many questions, with doubts.

1:09:15 Two or three days later I get a phone call from that same father, who, as said, is a family member of mine, and he is crying tears of excitement, and he says to me, listen, the doctors are simply stunned, it never was and was never created, it was not known that it had come into its insides. Stories like this we have heard in the past about Baba Sali, about holy, great rabbis who were, some of whom are already of the past, may their rest be honorable, and there are still some who should live long lives. We always heard things, but until I saw, simply, it was hard for me to see such a thing and accept the matters, until I saw it in this way within a day or two. But if this is the only story

1:10:08 that it seems I came across in connection with the Rav, then the wonderful event at Rabbi Ravid Nagar's was mentioned here earlier, in the city of Rechovot. I arrived there half an hour late, and the place under the open sky was full, there was no room to insert a pin.

1:10:33 I stood to the side, and suddenly I see that the Rav looks at me and points in my direction and asks that I come. I am the last one who would have thought that the Rav would do this for me, call me so that I come and sit next to him. I was sure it had nothing to do with me, next to me were important and wise people.

1:11:01 Then various people who were next to me started running toward the stage, and then the Rav turned to Rabbi Ravid and said to him, I want you to invite this Jew standing there, and he called me. I sat next to him because there was no other place in the east, and I did not understand the meaning of this invitation. My teachers and gentlemen, a year later I am in the United States, in Manhattan, on a fundraising trip for the yeshiva.

1:11:41 It was close to Rosh Hashanah, and there are usually people we know who travel every year, so there is a kind of estimate, how much on a day of fundraising, the harvest, how much a day, more or less we can reach. The first day passes and the second, third and fourth, and in four days I do not manage to reach even one day's amount.

1:12:14 I do not want — Rav Shach used to say that when a rosh yeshiva goes to raise money abroad, it is worthwhile for him to take two suitcases with him. One suitcase for money, and the second suitcase either for humiliations or for disappointments. I was sure that on that trip I was filling both suitcases with disappointments. I get to the first office, I knock at the door, but the man of the house is not there, he traveled to another city.

1:12:42 I get to the second office, similar things, everyone puts me off, I see that the business is not going, not moving. Before I left for abroad I asked the Rav for a blessing, the Rav blessed, and I am there three or four days, and [unclear], with what do I return home. I am sitting there in some beis midrash, and I send a message to Rav Tzemach, and I say to him, listen well, ask the Rav to pray for me.

1:13:20 I simply see here a dryness that cannot be described, I am going home, I have nothing to do here. What does a Jew do when he is in such a situation? He opens Sha'ar HaBitachon of Chovos HaLevavos, Rabbeinu Bachya. I took the book, went into a beis midrash, I sat by the entrance, stretched out my legs from tiredness, and began to learn.

1:13:50 While I am learning, a Jew comes in, wants to enter through the beis midrash entrance, but I am blocking him with my legs. So he says to me, excuse me, I want to pass. So I ask forgiveness, I pull my legs back in and let him pass. He goes inside, he has white earphones, the end of them connected into a phone, and as he walks he looks at the phone and says thank you very much and goes on.

1:14:29 Six, seven, maybe ten steps, he stops in place, he turns around and comes back to me. He looks at his phone, he looks at the figure standing before him who had blocked him a moment ago from going in, and he looks again and tries to find the connection between the one photographed and the article, and he says to me, tell me, honored Rav, is that you?

1:14:57 I look at his phone, and I see myself sitting right next to the Yanuka, our teacher shlita, at the great event at Rabbi Ravid Nagar's, at that very event where the Rav called me from afar, come to me, he says to me, tell me, is that you? I say to him, yes, I plead guilty. He begins to cry, Why are you crying?

1:15:23 What did I do? He says to me, you have no idea, now, he is a Jew who lives in the United States, he was in Israel maybe once, he barely speaks Hebrew, he says to me, you have no idea what the Yanuka brought about in my family, in my home, in my life, in my spirituality. He says to me, I owe this Jew my life. And he begins to ask me, tell me, what are you doing here?

1:15:54 I began to explain to him the purpose for which I came, and he began to find out what my connection to the Rav is. He says to me, listen well, takes out a business card for me, and he says to me, my office is in such-and-such a building, such-and-such a floor, room number so-and-so, come to me, I want to talk with you. I get to his office, this Jew arranges for me what I was supposed to do in two weeks, he arranged for me in half an hour.

1:16:23 That is one wonder. A wonder. But we are not excited by wonders. About the Maharal of Prague it is known that he, some say that he created the Golem of Prague. And that is the Maharal of Prague. That is not the Maharal of Prague. The Maharal's greatness, not that he created the Golem, but that the Maharal created the Maharal of Prague.

1:16:51 Our teacher the Rav, shlita, created a creation called the Yanuka. But it is not about this that I wanted to speak either. I wanted to speak about one point that many people ask me about, a point, I would say, a bit seemingly non-standard.

1:17:23 What are these niggunim that the Rav sings after every shiur? What is in these niggunim? So I want to share with you two cases from the last two months. First case, I brought the Rav a Jew, a good friend of mine, an important rabbi, who, not upon you and not upon us, fell ill with an illness, I brought him to the Rav in a wheelchair.

1:17:58 The Rav, in his great compassion, came down from the upper floor to the rabbi below, to that friend. I said to him, honored Rav, I ask that the Rav bless. The son and son-in-law of that rabbi I brought said to me, get a decree out of the Rav. Get a decree out of the Rav? The Rav does not need to decree, a tzaddik decrees and the Holy One, blessed be He, fulfills it, in the Rav's style, that is enough.

1:18:26 The Rav begins to bless this Jew, may it be the will that the Holy One, blessed be He, give you blessing and success and complete healing, healing of the soul, healing of the body, and so on and so on, the whole familiar and unfamiliar text, and at the end of the blessing he says to him, and may it be His will that death be swallowed up forever and Hashem G-d wipe away tears from all faces, and let us say amen. I stood astounded, I could not believe my ears.

1:18:55 This is a text that is not said in the Mi Sheberach blessing for a sick person, it is a text that is said at a eulogy at a funeral, rachmana litzlan. I was shaken. When I accompanied the Rav upstairs, on the stairs, I said to him, honored Rav, what is this text? What is this verse that the Rav brought in the middle of the Mi Sheberach blessing for a sick person?

1:19:23 The Rav said to me, listen, [unclear] the Gemara in Tractate Berachos, page 10, "Even a sharp sword resting on a person's neck, he should not withhold himself from mercy," I said to him, yes. He says to me, this case with this man is what is being spoken about here. Two months later this Jew passed away. In those two months I was at his place several times in the hospital.

1:19:50 He tells me that the meeting, that Jew tells me, that friend, that this meeting with the Rav brought about inner revolutions in him, and the only thing he was willing to accept, he did not want to take painkillers or morphine, even though the illness had devastated him. The one thing that they placed beside that patient and he did not need any painkillers, was the Rav's niggunim.

1:20:23 He says, these niggunim, you do not know what they do to me. I was with him also in the last hours before he passed away, they called the whole family to take leave of him, he was already in a coma. I was with him, the close family came, and simply threw themselves on the rabbi, on that rabbi I am talking about. They hugged him, kissed him, cried, stroked him, and no response.

1:20:49 Not a twitch of an eyelid. One of the students took a computer, placed it next to the rabbi, and pressed play on the niggunim of the Rav, shlita, who should live long. At that moment, my eyes saw and not a stranger's, my ears heard and not another's. The eyes of that patient began to flicker and he began to move his legs.

1:21:17 That is the meaning of the Rav's niggunim. The niggun is from a very, very high world, things the mouth cannot express, the niggun can bring out and do sterilization to a person's soul. And one more story, and with this I finish. Not last Shabbos, the Shabbos before, a week and a day ago, four in the afternoon, a student from our yeshiva hurried to pray Mincha, he did not want to miss the minyan, he took a shortcut, he jumped from a height of about two meters, jumped onto his feet.

1:22:03 Apparently when one jumps in a certain way, when the head is at a certain angle, the brain receives a shock from the bones of the neck, and that is what happened to him, he suffered a concussion. Within a quarter of an hour he was evacuated by ambulance to Schneider Hospital, sedated and ventilated, with no pulse, no breathing.

1:22:31 They immediately took him into a room, trauma, intensive care, began doing tests, drainages. I learned of this story on motzei Shabbos. Immediately I traveled to the hospital, I saw a child it is impossible to describe or imagine how many hours [unclear] this child. The doctors, with dire predictions, the mother weeping?

1:23:03 Bottom line, beyond the damage he had, the whole left side of his body was completely paralyzed, they try to wake him several times, they try to disconnect him from the ventilators to give him the opportunity to breathe on his own but the readings go down, play, go up and down I said to the mother, after all the doctors, really hard things were said there, I said to the mother, take the Yanuka's niggunim and put them by the child, next to his ears, so that he hears it.

1:23:43 It won't hurt. Put it on. After a night, in the early morning hours she calls me and says, listen, he started moving his whole left side, which the doctors did not believe. This child, this past Shabbos I went to visit him, this child is already today, thank G-d, one can say, 80% of the story is behind him, the doctors are in shock.

1:24:16 The Yanuka's niggunim come from a very high place, come down through his holy fingers and penetrate inside the soul of a person and bring about wonders. May Hashem grant us that we always merit to see [unclear], in the length of his days and years, and may he continue to bring merit to the Jewish people through Torah, with joy, with melody.

1:24:44 And with grace, may it be His will, and let us say Amen. [unclear] they do not know that the Rav is supposed to be here.

1:25:12 You understand yourselves what would have happened if. This is a unique conference. Just three days ago there was a conference here in Beitar, thousands upon thousands. Here in this place a few months ago there was a conference, from the crowding it was not possible to breathe. This conference is a unique conference for the sake of the holy Torah and for the sake of the Holy One, blessed be He.

1:25:39 The reason it is in this form, small, personal even, I would say, is exactly for the earlier reason that we said: it is not a conference to glorify the Rav's name, Heaven forbid, it is not a conference to glorify the Rav's genius, Heaven forbid, it is a conference for the sake of the holy Torah and for the sake of the Holy One, blessed be He. And this conference is made specifically on Zos Chanukah, specifically on the holiday of Chanukah.

1:26:10 The Greeks had no problem with the Jewish people learning Torah, only "to make them forget Your Torah", not to make them forget Torah. They actually rejoiced in Torah. Talmai very much wanted to translate the Torah, that it should be theirs, and they translated it into 70 languages. But the Torah is wisdom. That they did not understand. They defiled the oils and did not break the oils.

1:26:36 They wanted Torah, but a different Torah, a broken and crushed Torah, a Torah of mathematics, a Torah of genius, a Torah of one who knows how to turn the Torah into wisdom, but not G-dly. This conference is for people who already live the Rav's path. They understand the meaning that there is something deeper here. The Rav does not represent himself.

1:27:01 The Rav represents the Torah. The Rav represents what is lofty, G-d, the Holy One, blessed be He, the Creator. There was not one shiur in the world, one talk of the Rav, no matter what topic, no matter what holiday it may be, on Tisha B'Av and on Purim, in the end everything arrives at the same point. Where is the Shechinah? Where is the Holy One, blessed be He, in the story? He is constantly living the Beis HaMikdash, the Geulah, the Holy One, blessed be He, the Shechinah, and he can speak about this on any mitzvah in the world.

1:27:32 Whoever was a little with the Rav at the shiurim, in the end it always arrives at the same point. For this we gathered here today. The holy congregation sitting here has already heard the Rav, knows the path a little. He wants to taste, he says, there is something here that I can pass on. What do I do in order to pass it on? As the Rebbe of Kotzk said to one who told him that he finished the Shas, he learned all the Torah, he said to him, and what did the Torah teach you?

1:28:03 And this is exactly the purpose of the conference here. The conference here, the organization Nidberu Yirei Hashem, which is an organization very, very important to the Rav. The Rav wants that people not only come to hear someone who knows all the Torah and everything is spread before him like a garment, he wants someone for whom the Holy One, blessed be He, is spread before him, like a set table, everything you know to connect to the central point. Here there is the Holy One, blessed be He, here there is the Shechinah, here there is G-d, here there is something beyond what you see, beyond wisdom.

1:28:35 And this is what we want, and the Rav wants, and in a little while we will merit that the Rav comes here and gives us a bit of the foundations of his path. It will not be a regular shiur, the upcoming shiur that will be here. It will not be a shiur, once again, on some particular topic, and then from all of the Torah, from the Zohar, the Rishonim and the Acharonim, and some point that everyone will leave from here with. The Rav will spread out his teaching. And this is the unique conference that there is here, which it seems to me has never yet been with the Rav.

1:29:05 We will have the honor to invite the great Gaon, Rabbi Zilberman, the local halachic authority of the Neve Yaakov neighborhood here in Jerusalem, to deliver some of his Torah words and a few words of blessing. With honor. - Good evening.

1:29:48 We hear about our teacher the Rav. I am not the man who will come to speak about his greatness in Torah, which is a wonder; I do not know such a thing. in the revealed and in the hidden.

1:30:15 Just as we are amazed at the inwardness of the Rav, which is in fact very fitting for this day. Today we are in a very great day. This is Zos Chanukah, this is the dedication of the altar. This day, which is written in the Gra of Vilna, that the Hallel of it is corresponding to Yom Kippur, on which Hallel is not said, so they complete the Hallel today, on Zos Chanukah, on this great day.

1:31:00 It is written in the verse, "When you light the lamps," Rashi says, Aharon's mind was weakened, Aharon the Kohen, he was not among the offerings of the princes. The tribe of Levi was not there. The offerings of the princes were only for the tribes of Israel.

1:31:27 Rashi says the tribes that received sticks they were, they received blows from the Egyptian taskmasters, who said to them, why do you not urge the people on, they who received blows with sticks merited to bring the offerings of the princes. The tribe of Levi, who did not labor in Egypt, did not merit the great secrets of the offerings of the princes, they did not merit this.

1:31:56 Aharon's mind was weakened and he had a longing. He wanted, he wanted something, he had a longing. This longing, the Holy One, blessed be He, said, yours is greater than theirs. You will have something greater because of this longing. You will fulfill, you light and prepare the lamps.

1:32:25 He lights and prepares the lamps. What is this gift that Hashem gave him for the longing? We know that there is the structure of the Mishkan, there are the boards of the Mishkan, the vessels of the Mishkan, all the vessels, they anointed them with the anointing oil and sanctified them.

1:33:00 The space of the Mishkan where they serve, how did they sanctify it? How did they sanctify the inside? The inside, how did they sanctify it? King Shlomo says. "He made its pillars of silver, its support of gold, its seat of purple, its inside lovingly fitted." The inside is lovingly fitted.

1:33:31 Love comes through thirst. Thirst that there is. It is written in the verse, "And the work was enough, and more." They wanted more and more, say the Rishonim, in the merit that they wanted more and more, this is the holiness that gave it an inside. When I see the Rav known as the Rav Yanuka, there are no words and it does not apply, it is not grasped at all, his greatness in Torah.

1:34:13 But more than that, "its inside lovingly fitted," you would not believe it if it were told. He cares for the Jewish people, he loves the Jewish people, he loves the Holy One, blessed be He, and one sees that he thinks of himself not at all, only of the Holy One, blessed be He, of the Jewish people, at every level there is.

1:34:39 His holiness is the holiness of the Mishkan, whose inside is lovingly fitted. Aharon the Kohen, It is written, the Sages say that in nothing is it written "so." In all the things, at the time of the creation, "so" is written.

1:35:05 Regarding light it is written, "And G-d said, let there be light, and there was light," it is not written "and it was so." All the creation, "and it was so" is written, and here it is not written "and it was so," because the hidden light, Hashem hid it away. But it is known, the great ones of Chassidus, the Avnei Yissaschar and others, say that the hidden light is found in the Chanukah lights. The light that is in the Oral Torah.

1:35:30 "And Aharon did so." He completed the [unclear] and "he did so." This is what the Holy One, blessed be He, gave him, the hidden light, the inner light, that Hashem gave as a gift to Aharon the Kohen with the loving heart, who loves peace and pursues peace. When we look at the Yanuka, may he be healthy, I see one thing, "And wisdom, from where shall it be found."

1:36:08 The Sages say, there is a wisdom that a person thinks that he is something, that he does and he is something and he brings about salvations, like we hear in that way about salvations. This is not Hashem's will. "And wisdom from where shall it be found," one who regards himself as nothing, as nothing, he expresses himself to everyone, a friend of everyone, [unclear] for everyone, devotes himself to everyone, and gives himself over to the Jewish people.

1:36:43 Here dwells the wisdom. Wisdom needs, yes, needs a fixture, needs a pillar. This pillar, the pillar of love of the Jewish people, of love of Hashem, of good character traits, this is even more of a wonder than all his greatness in Torah, that a person like him [unclear] he had to be and to regard himself.

1:37:10 As nothing, as nothing. This is the love of wisdom, from where shall it be found. This is its inside lovingly fitted. And therefore he merits that a tzaddik decrees and the Holy One, blessed be He, fulfills. Therefore he merits that "Hashem is with him," the Shechinah rests with him, and the generation merits to see, merits to see a person with the Shechinah; not everyone can grant this, to see it, but this is the reality that we see here, the holiness of a person whose inside is lovingly fitted.

1:37:48 We only pray to Hashem that we merit, that we merit to receive from him, we will learn from him what cannot be learned, each one must work for it, but the character traits, the love, the good character traits, at the very least this we can learn from him, and may Hashem help that we receive all the influences, and that we merit to see the great light of the Torah, and may we merit soon the light of Mashiach, Amen.

1:38:22 - Thank you to our teacher, [unclear], Rabbi Zilberman shlita. I want to tell you something, a story fresh from just now. One moment. Is there a Jew here from the audience? whose father was completely blind. Blind, I mean, blind. Not seeing a little, completely blind. He met the Rav on Simchas Torah.

1:38:48 He told the Rav about the terrible reality of his father, that he is blind, blind, blind. The Rav asks him, tell me, the Torah, the teachings, do you spread them? What you people do. He said to him no. He said to him, know that these teachings are teachings of Geulah, because the whole difference between Galus and Geulah is only the letter aleph, galus, geulah, golah, geulah.

1:39:19 To bring the Holy One, blessed be He, into our reality, into our Torah, the light that is in it brings back to the good, says the Baal Shem Tov. Not the Torah brings back to the good, but the light that is in it. There is light in the Torah. This light. Do you spread it? He said to him no. He said to him, spread this. He spread it. A month ago he began to spread these things, thirty thousand copies.

1:39:48 His father's sight returned to him. He is not blind. He sees normally, like any person. He is sitting here in the audience. This is not the story of the Rav. The point here is not the man, Rav Shlomo Yehuda. No. It is the Torah on the inside. It is the Holy One, blessed be He, who is found inside this Torah.

1:40:13 There is Torah and there is Torah, it is not the same Shulchan Aruch, it is not the same Gemara, it is something else. As the Baal Shem Tov says, "would that they abandon Me and keep My Torah," how can there be such a reality, "they abandoned Me and kept My Torah"? The Baal Shem Tov says, not "they abandoned Me and kept Torah," but "and kept My Torah." If they remember that the Torah is Mine and it is connected with Me, even if they abandoned Me, the light that is in it will succeed in bringing the Jew back inside, into the holiness and into the Torah.

1:41:07 - A holy thank-you, we greet our teacher and Rebbe, the holy one of Israel and his glory, our Rabbi, the Yanuka shlita.

1:46:08 - ...who sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to light the Chanukah light. Blessed are You, Hashem our G-d, King of the universe, who performed miracles for our forefathers in those days at this time. Amen. - Audience, return to your places.

1:48:34 My teachers and masters, holy congregation, respected listening congregation, again everyone please sit in your places in honor of our teacher and Rebbe. We are not at just another evening, every evening with the Rav, every time we merit to be in the presence of our teacher and Rebbe, the holy one of Israel, these are uplifting moments, special moments, all the more so, all the more so, on this holy night of Zos Chanukah, as all the great rabbis mentioned about the virtue of the exalted night.

1:49:02 But this night, this great and holy and exalted evening, is an occasion of historic dimension. Sometimes we are at a historic event, at an occasion that has an implication for generations upon generations, and we are not aware of the greatness of the occasion, not aware of the greatness of the moment. We are here at an occasion that is, simply, the handing down of the Torah. We all know, Moshe received the Torah from Sinai, he handed it to Yehoshua and Yehoshua to the Elders.

1:49:27 All of the Jewish people live with it from that handing down of the Torah from generation to generation, from Moshe Rabbeinu until our day. Generation to generation will utter speech. On this evening we merit the same continuity, the same chain of generations, as we, on this holy night, merit the great abundance of the Rav's Torah, which with Hashem's help will go out from here, from this occasion, from this world, [unclear] in Jerusalem to all the Land of Israel and to all the Jewish people.

1:49:54 For everyone who contemplates, everyone who thinks, notices that there is a phenomenon here that has no equal. What connects all of us to the Rav? It is not the same circle, it is not the same community, it is not the same types of people. Each one comes from a different background, from a different place, from a different community, and we are all united, bound together in connection to our teacher and Rebbe. What connects all of us, the great rabbis who are here, the holy audience that is here, an audience that already merits being connected to the Rav, an audience of invited guests who have been connected to the Rav for years, but one sees this in all the dispersions of Israel.

1:50:28 All the Jewish people are connected to our teacher and Rebbe the Rav. This thing calls for explanation. We have not found such a thing. Every Admor has his community, every rabbi with his people. What connects everyone to the giant figure of our teacher and Rebbe? What is the root? What is the foundation and what is the connection? And the answer is one, what connects everyone to that holy one, that tzaddik, foundation of the world, our teacher and Rebbe? The holy Torah, Torah of truth, without publicity, without noise, without ringing bells.

1:50:57 That same holy Torah, Torah of truth, of our teacher and Rebbe, connects every one of the soul of Israel [unclear]. Every Jew who was at Mount Sinai connects to Torah of truth, holy Torah, pure Torah, clean Torah, pure Torah, a Torah that is connected to every Jew and to every soul of Israel wherever he is. And this is the great and holy occasion that we merit, with Hashem's help, that this same Torah of our teacher and Rebbe, which is already spreading, already, thank G-d, spread throughout [unclear], but the goal of this holy evening, which our teacher and Rebbe bequeaths to us on this great and holy evening, that each one of you who is here, each one can be a channel, can be an ambassador, to continue the clean Torah, the clean fine flour, this holy Torah, which in fact touches the inwardness of every Jew,

1:51:44 it does not touch only one or another, a rabbi or a student, but every one of Israel belongs to the Torah of our teacher and Rebbe. And on this holy evening we ask to merit, with Hashem's help, to be a part of that Torah, to be a part of the Torah of our teacher and Rebbe, the holy one of Israel and his glory. Happy are we that we merit to be at this great and holy occasion. I think, my teachers and masters, that this is an occasion to tell to children, to grandchildren. We merited to be at the effort that the holy one of Israel and his glory, our teacher the Rav, gives his Torah onward, outward, "and you shall spread out westward and eastward, northward and southward," and we will have the honor, with holy feelings, to hear [unclear] our teacher and Rebbe,

1:52:23 the holy one of Israel and his glory, Maran the Rav shlita. With the permission of our teachers and rabbis, the great and honored rabbis, each and every one, and with the permission of the entire holy and honored assembly, the holy people.

1:53:01 It was said that today there was a gathering for Zos Chanukah, so that we may learn in practice, halacha for practice, what we need to do in the world and the right way, in order to [unclear] light.

1:53:28 for the sake of Hashem, blessed be He. Today is Zos Chanukah. Before that, let us first say a little about the greatness of the day. Today is Zos Chanukah, a very, very, very holy day, which our teacher the Sfas Emes of Gur, in the year 5640, writes that this day, Zos Chanukah, is the last day, which gathers in all the holy days of the whole year.

1:54:00 That is to say, all the holy days that there were, all the festivals and times, everything is gathered together in Zos Chanukah, and [unclear] for the whole year, this day, specifically of Zos Chanukah, that we pray and merit to gather. They say in the name of the holy Rebbe of Ruzhin, in the sefer Avir Yaakov, on page 'Samar', 3, there are many holy teachings of his there, in which he speaks about all kinds of times and festivals.

1:54:27 And he said about Zos Chanukah that what great and awesome tzaddikim accomplish on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, a simple Jew accomplishes on Zos Chanukah. To the point that one can accomplish before Hashem what a person did not succeed in accomplishing all year long, before Hashem, blessed be He. They also say in the name of the Magen Avraham of Trisk, that he wrote in a discourse on Zos Chanukah that he brought that the seal of every person is sealed on Chanukah and Zos Chanukah, and so he writes that Chanukah is an acronym of "and the seal of every person is made and completed" - this is the acronym of Chanukah, which is the secret hint that the whole seal of a person, when Chanukah arrives, is sealed and his judgment is completed - so he brings.

1:55:20 And therefore the writing and sealing of Yom Kippur and the writing and sealing of Hoshana Rabbah, and the last sealing, he explains that it is specifically in Zos Chanukah, which is the conclusion of the seal and is in fact the beginning of the year. So explains the Magen Avraham of Trisk. There is another beautiful thing about this, for in the words of the early authorities they say that the Maharil, in Laws of Chanukah, section 11, wrote that in the region of Reins they were accustomed not to do work on the eighth day of Chanukah, and this also appears in the Or Zarua, part 2, siman 321, and the Darkei Moshe also brought it, in siman 684, section 3, he brought this matter, the importance of understanding what the eighth day is, Zos Chanukah. We see the wording of

1:56:14 the words Zos Chanukah, which is specifically the mention that is also mentioned in the Sefer HaMinhagim of Rabbi Yitzchak of Tyrna, but the great root of these days, of this time, that the whole sealing, one must understand that this light of Chanukah, we must yearn every time for the mitzvos and yearn for the holy times. There is the holy Gaon, the author of Das Moshe.

1:56:40 He composed a great work of responsa on halacha and he was one of the immense Geonim, and he writes that at first he explains that this is how one must truly live and think all the time, that one must each time yearn and long and desire after every single mitzvah, and when the time and occasion comes that the mitzvah departs like on Shabbos at its departure, [unclear], or on Yom Tov or on Sukkos, to kiss the walls as the holy Shelah brought, to feel the attachment, and therefore on Zos Chanukah he says to feel truly the separation, how we yearn and long again and again for this holiness, for this purity. This is how one must be all the time, he says, full of longing and full of yearning for everything that is holy.

1:57:35 When a person puts on tefillin, when a person wraps himself in tzitzis, when a person prays, when a person already waits again for the reading of the Torah, he waits each time again for a holy place, and so he will be full of longing and desires and yearnings to arrive at that holy and pure place. So he explains that this is the importance, and the highest thing that a person can merit to do. There is the holy Gaon of Blozhov, the author of the Keren Yeshuah, he writes in the first discourse in the name of the Rash of Ostropola, an immense and very awesome novel idea.

1:58:08 He says that it is received in the name of the early Kabbalists, he says that Avraham Avinu passed away in Teves, so he brings, and then he says "you shall be buried in a good old age," and the acronym is Teves, but he brings there another very awesome novel idea, that he says that "a good old age" has the gematria of "ner Chanukah," and says that he passed away on Zos Chanukah, Avraham Avinu, and it is a very great novel idea, that Avraham Avinu passed away on Zos Chanukah, that today is the hilula of Avraham Avinu.

1:58:42 And in order to understand the ways of Avraham Avinu, in order to understand the path of Avraham Avinu, this is what we must engage in all the days of our lives in this world. To look and to see the outlook of Avraham, the good eye, the humble spirit, the lowly soul. The Sages teach in Tractate Avos, chapter 5, mishnah 19, that the humble spirit and the lowly soul and the good eye - that a person looks at everything in the world, he sees only the good, he does not see any reality of evil.

1:59:19 And he always looks to see how to elevate everything that is holy, to lift it and raise it higher and higher. And these are the eyes of Avraham Avinu, this is the contemplation that Avraham Avinu had in the world. That Avraham Avinu, that David HaMelech established the book of Tehillim, it is written in Bava Basra, page 14b, at the end of the page, that Avraham Avinu was among the founders of all of Tehillim, when we see Tehillim, it was ten tzaddikim who composed the book of Tehillim, but Avraham Avinu is the fighter who fought the wars of Hashem in the world, and he lit up the light of Hashem in the world against all the idol worshippers that there were.

2:00:02 Our teacher the Rambam, Laws of Idolatry, chapter 1, halacha 3, explains that everything Avraham Avinu did in the world, that they would come to him, thousands and tens of thousands would gather by him, so writes the Rambam, that Avraham Avinu would arrive and they would come to him, and all the time he had to deal with them, with their fallen beliefs and the places where they were stuck, and then Avraham Avinu had to teach them the ways of emunah and the ways of holiness until Avraham Avinu succeeded in turning their hearts back to Hashem, blessed be He. This is how Avraham went through the whole world, until he revealed the kingship of Hashem.

2:00:41 And of course he passed this on to Yitzchak, and Yitzchak passed it on to Yaakov. So explains our teacher the Rambam. And the Rambam explains that this importance is so that we understand that we can learn from this, what we can learn from the words of the Rambam, that we see a reality of darkness. In the world, and everyone knows that the greatest darkness and gloom there is, [unclear], is this generation. This generation is very, very hard, very, very far. There are so many difficulties, so many trials, so many prohibitions, so many disputes, so many troubles, so many problems, and people barely manage to lift their [unclear] upward, both in prayer and in Torah.

2:01:39 I want to explain to you, so that you will know, that our outlook and view, everything we think and everything we wrote, and this whole path, is not for the sake of a novel idea in Torah, it is not only that. We must give our thought to the long term, what will be with the world, what will be with the Torah, what will be with the Torah if we think that we will leave the world and the Redemption will not come and the Beis HaMikdash will not be built, Heaven forbid - what do we do in this world, so that we engrave foundations holy and pure, that will guard the values of the Torah, the path of the Torah?

2:02:28 Today, when we look at the holy Torah, which is the purest and loftiest thing in the world, it is the holy Torah that Hashem, blessed be He, gave to the Jewish people. And Heaven forbid, that they took the Torah to a bad place, to a place through which they become arrogant, through which they quarrel, through which they incite, through which they increase hatred and dispute, this is not the Torah that we received at Mount Sinai, this is called a Torah that is a potion of death.

2:03:06 So the Tosafos teach in Taanis, page 7, in Pesachim, page 50, in Yoma, page 72b, that this is called a Torah that is a potion of death. It is not called a life-giving potion, because this is a Torah that is in order to provoke, that is in order to be arrogant, and about such a Torah we are not speaking. This is not the way and the inheritance. We must guard the Torah so that it will always be for its own sake, and that all the time, whatever we learn, we will direct toward Hashem, blessed be He, to give Him satisfaction.

2:03:38 We must open our eyes to each and every one, to see the situation of whoever he may be and try to light up in him the light of Hashem even in the most distant of the distant, even in the most remote of the remote. This is the will of Hashem, blessed be He. The whole outlook, when one tries to look at flesh and blood or to look at someone, this is not the way.

2:04:05 The intention must be to look at the knowledge, at the Torah, at the intellect, at the outlook, at the rescue - this is what we need to do. I want you to know that all that I pray to Hashem, blessed be He, every day, that all my hope and my joy and all my desire, I of course have sorrow and great suffering over my even sitting here and speaking, because I am the lowest in the world and I am not fit at all to speak before anyone, all the more so not before our teachers and rabbis, the great ones of the Torah, the sages, the judges, the Geonim who are here, and all the more so before you, before each and every one, and this truly, I ask truly for endless forgiveness for this.

2:04:57 But Hashem, blessed be He, is very, very great and awesome, and I speak from the pain. Beyond the fact that it hurts, it is very important that you know that the main thing, the main thing is that all the time you hold on to the writings, to this outlook, to everything that I speak, so that we can use it, to come close to Hashem, and not to be [unclear] and you will hold on to his garment, that people today in our generation, which is so dark and gloomy, forget the knowledge, forget the true purpose, for what we came down to the world.

2:05:51 We are like a king who sent emissaries in order to bring back his kingship, in order to bring it back home to his palace. And how can we, for so many years, forget this and each continue on his own way? We must stop and put an end to all the evil that there is in the world. The responsibility and the duty is on each and every one of us.

2:06:20 Whoever will stop it, who will prevent the evil, who will increase the good, who will cancel baseless hatred, to cancel all kinds of disputes, to cancel the evil eye, to be among the students of Avraham Avinu, to arouse the Supernal Providence. I do not know how many of you know or do not know, but there are many, many, many shiurim that were given over the years.

2:06:51 And these shiurim began many, many years ago, many, many. And it is not from a year ago or two years ago, and I ran away from all publicity and everything, because all publicity should publicize only Hashem. Everything is false, this whole world is false. And the one who most should be praised, and the one who most should be glorified, the one who most should be exalted, extolled, thanked, lauded, praised, is the One who said and the world came to be, not flesh and blood. And I am in awful fear, that I even mention His great and awesome name, the Holy One, blessed be He, King of the kings of the angels, to mention Him and to glorify Him, that it should be satisfaction before Him, blessed be He.

2:07:41 And I want all these writings and all these shiurim to go out so that they will be of benefit to you, and that through this we will be able to come close and to strive, with [unclear], after Him, blessed be He, which is the purpose and this is the world, to light up His light, blessed be He. And I know that this was from Heaven, of course, and I will tell you a little, just so that you know.

2:08:08 Many, many years ago, for whoever still remembers the shiurim back then, it was in the year 5768, 5767, there were a few shiurim in Jerusalem, when we used to give shiurim. And that was how to reveal the light of Hashem, I was about eighteen years old, about something like that, and I went through many, many adventures.

2:08:39 My view throughout all the years, for whoever knows me, is the same view, the same thought. Solely and only on Hashem, blessed be He. And I wanted so much that Hashem, blessed be He, would have satisfaction, and the writings and the prayers, and I went through so many adventures, and in innocence I did not think there was so much falsehood in the world. I thought that everything was light and everything was good and everything was mercy, and I had so many obstacles and there were many difficulties in teaching and conveying this path.

2:09:24 And Hashem, blessed be He, arranged many holy and worthy students, Torah scholars, to whom I gave much of this, and they guarded it and learned and engaged in it and wrote. But the war was not simple. So that I see in this only the light of Hashem that Hashem, blessed be He, aroused, but I went through much persecution and much sorrow and much, much, much pain, and all the time my eyes are fixed on Hashem, blessed be He.

2:09:55 And thank Hashem, when I see the light of Hashem, blessed be He, the knowledge, the Torah, the light and the joy of people, in whom the light of Hashem, blessed be He, shines, that is my joy. I do not think that... I have a thought that I will live here 200 years, I do not...

2:10:21 I think every time about the purpose, all the time I think about the purpose. What is there that I will have to stand before our Master, the Creator, blessed be He, what is there that I will have to come before the Heavenly court, and all the time I am [unclear] and trembling about the last day, all the time. And all the time I think how to engrave in the world the knowledge and the right way, that they should come close to Hashem, blessed be He, that they should come close to Him, blessed be He.

2:10:46 And what we need today, we need so, so much to increase joy, and we need so much to drive out the darkness, we so need to drive out the gloom. You do not understand today how much we are in a situation where we need to cry out to Heaven. When we were in Egypt, when we were in the midst of the exile, then the Jewish people had hard labor, then they cried out to Hashem, blessed be He, "And the children of Israel sighed from the work, and they cried out, and their cry rose up to G-d."

2:11:18 But today there is no labor and it seems that we are in a kind of redemption and everyone is holding on to his garment, holding on to his Talmud, each one forgets the reality that we are in, but the world is full, full, full of sorrow. There are many people who are suffering. I do not know how many people know about this, but think that they tell me many, many troubles. People tell me, and thank Hashem, I also hear good news in return, that people, Hashem, blessed be He, answered them.

2:11:55 But how much pain the Shechinah has. All this sorrow is the sorrow of the Shechinah. How much pain the holy Shechinah has. How much sorrow the Shechinah has, how much we must do everything in our power to say to Hashem, blessed be He: Enough, we cannot any more. We do not want this exile, we do not want these sufferings, but at least until You redeem us, give us knowledge, give us hope, give us strength, give us the joy and the right spirit, that we should be a man in whom there is spirit.

2:12:35 Give us the strength that the spirit of Hashem that You, blessed be He, can give, give that it should beat within us, that we can know the right way to [unclear] light. And then we will see the revealed parts of the Torah, that we learn the Torah and we deal each time with every smallest part or every smallest detail, from the Shulchan Aruch, from the Talmud, from the Zohar, from the Yerushalmi, from everything there is, we must see above it Hashem, blessed be He, and look and gaze and see, trembling, astounded, at the greatness of Hashem and how we are in this exile.

2:13:19 Remember all the holy ones, bring up before you all the memories of all the holy ones who died for the sanctification of Hashem's name. Do you know what will be at the moment the Redemption comes? You know that before Hashem, blessed be He, there is a treasure in Heaven, of which they say "the gates of tears are not locked," in Bava Metzia, page 59. But what is the meaning of the gates of tears? I once explained that there is a place in Heaven of all the tears of all the world, of all the generations, of all the holy ones who died for the sanctity of His name, blessed be He.

2:14:01 All the Jews who died, who gave their lives for Hashem, blessed be He, for the sanctity of His name, to sanctify His name, blessed be He, and all the tears that they shed before their passing, and all this sorrow, and all the fear that they wept, and the pain that they went through, and the pain that their relatives went through, who saw them like this, all these tears went to a very high chamber in Heaven, the gates of tears.

2:14:30 And the Holy One, blessed be He, every time sees the tears and remembers these tears. The look of Shaul HaMelech before he departed from the world to Heaven. Remember the look of Yeshayahu before he departed. Look into the eyes of David HaMelech, how David HaMelech would look to Heaven in the hour before he departed, and how many wars they waged in this world in order to reveal the King of the kings of the angels, the Holy One, blessed be He.

2:14:56 The Holy One, blessed be He, to reveal the kingship of Hashem. And the moment we contemplate and look and gaze, we too, to Heaven, and we too will see and look with the same thought, we will arouse all the tears that there were of all those who died for the sanctification of Hashem's name, and we will strengthen ourselves against this and arouse their light. That every time a person is broken, every time a person's heart is broken, he must lift his head for the sake of all those who died for the sanctification of the name of Hashem, blessed be He, in order to win and to be filled with hope and not to be broken by anything.

2:15:36 And we must be the greatest heroes there are in order to win the war, to win over the subjugation, to win over the plagues, to win over the darkness, and this is the way to [unclear] light. If we do not know that this exists, if we do not open our eyes, then this is called being held by an imagination. This imagination, that a person thinks he already knows who Hashem is, and this is the greatest fear there is, who knows - the Holy One, blessed be He - who knows who Hashem is, who knows the greatness of Hashem, blessed be He, David HaMelech testified about himself, "for I know that Hashem is great, and our Lord is above all gods."

2:16:17 Who can say that he knows the greatness of Hashem? Who can know that he knows who Hashem is and before whom he prays? We do not know. Only through the Torah do we engage a little and understand a little of what He wants. His will, the revelation of His will, is the Torah. In the Torah the will is revealed, the will and wisdom of Hashem, blessed be He, for us in this world.

2:16:45 But through the revelation of the will of Hashem, it does not mean that we already know who Hashem is. And here is the mistake that the world goes from stumbling to stumbling and thinks that they already know who Hashem is, in order to ask Him questions, in order to distance themselves from Him, in order to come to Him with a complaint, and they do not understand that it is impossible to know who Hashem is, and one does not need to serve Hashem, blessed be He, by there being some wonder, or by Hashem, blessed be He, doing like this or doing like that.

2:17:14 No. To serve Hashem and to see Hashem is to be in very great awe before the great G-d who sits in Heaven, and to know that He exists, and to know that He sees us and hears us and listens to us. And we must cause all the creatures to have this awe and this faith that there is such a Creator of the world. This is what Avraham Avinu did, that Avraham Avinu went and revealed to the whole world the opposite of their belief, that they worship the sun and that they worship the moon and that they worship idolatry, and he revealed to them that there is Someone above.

2:17:51 And this is the whole path and this is the whole matter and this is what we wanted to say to you today, that it is true that there are our novel ideas in the Torah and everything we write, but there is one who will look and read the novel ideas and there is one who will understand that there is something beyond the novel ideas, which are tools through which we will merit to [unclear] light.

2:18:18 The path and outlook is also that a person himself will rise and grow and reveal the light that is hidden within him. And this is something that must be understood. Today, when we see the Jewish people, everyone sees many holy Jews, holy and awesome souls. But no one truly knows what is hidden in him, what power there is in him and what Hashem wants from him and what he can bring out.

2:18:48 And this is what we need to reveal. This is our path, to try to bring out of each and every one all that is hidden in him, all the light that is in him, to drive out the darkness that there is and reveal the light that is hidden in each and every one. These are the tools of the Torah, for this we learn the Torah, for this we fulfill the mitzvos, to cleave to Hashem and to reveal the light that is hidden in each one of us.

2:19:19 You know that if a person were walking in the middle of the sea, they would say to the person, there is a very big heart of the sea, and in the heart of this sea there is a chest, and in this chest there is a key. And this chest cannot be found, because it was lost in the sea, it cannot be found at all. And in this chest there is a key, and until the one who will find that place where the chest is, in which there is a key, that will only open another chest that is in the middle of the sea, where the key is found, so, just as it is so hard to estimate and know where the only key is that can open our hearts to Hashem, blessed be He.

2:20:07 To find the heart, to find what is hidden within us - this is the secret. And you must know that our whole journey in life, our whole life, seventy, eighty, ninety, a hundred, a hundred years, however long a person will live, all of it is preparation before the meeting with the Holy One, blessed be He. This is all of life. This is all our life.

2:20:31 We live, but among people, among trials; everyone will go through trials, and Hashem looks and watches. And the greatest mistake is that a person thinks that he already knows who he is, and he knows himself according to what he thinks, that he thinks that if he knows that he has such and such desires, or such and such wishes, he already pictures to himself that this is him. But this is not true, this is not what he is.

2:20:57 A person does not know what is hidden in him, and for this Hashem, blessed be He, made it that people need to go to true tzaddikim. This is the true role, to reveal what is hidden in a person, to reveal the light that is hidden in each one. This is what needs to be brought out. One needs to bring out all that is hidden in each one, and this is the light of Chanukah. This is taking the small jug, and bringing out of it oil for eight days.

2:21:24 To take the smallest thing there is, the most contemptible, the lowliest, the poorest, and to raise it and lift it as high as there is. And this is what we need to do, to elevate everyone, to lift up everyone, to unify the Holy One, blessed be He, with all His people Israel. And so that you know, this is the outlook, this is the way, these are the tools, these are the writings, this is the knowledge, and this is the wish, that Hashem, blessed be He, should bless you.

2:21:57 And I have a great and immense love for you, very, very, very much. I love you, a great and immense and infinite love. I pray for you, that each and every one of you should have all the good influences, and that you should have Heavenly assistance. And I merited a little truly to know these holy rabbis for many years already, and to see, to be delighted that they are awesome and exceptional Torah scholars, with good character traits and holiness.

2:22:24 Fortunate are we that we have such holy and pure and true sages whom we merited to see, fortunate are we that we have such a people. "Fortunate is the people for whom it is so, fortunate is the people whose G-d is Hashem," so I will bless our teachers and rabbis that they should have length of days and years, that they should have Heavenly assistance, that they should have a good life, them and all the members of their households, all their family, all that is theirs, all their descendants.

2:22:48 We bless each and every one of the holy and honored assembly that you should have Heavenly assistance, that you should have joy, that you should have vitality and enthusiasm, and that we merit to see the light that bursts forth from each and every one, and through this Hashem, blessed be He, will redeem us with a complete Redemption, and [unclear] in our days, Amen and Amen. - Amen. Let us hear you, holy assembly, all together. After we heard the holy words of our teacher and rabbi, the holy one of Israel, we will merit, in brief words, from the honor of the Admor, the grandson of Baba Sali, Sidna Rabbi Shlomo Busu, who repeats and says one sentence, the Admor who grew up on the knees of Baba Sali, and says, since I merited the holiness of [unclear] Baba Sali, I have not seen such holiness as the holiness of our teacher and rabbi, the holy one of Israel,

2:26:10 our teacher the Rav shlita. And the Rav repeats this, and these people, [unclear] a blessing from the Rav in the merit of Sidna Baba Sali, his grandfather, he says you come in the merit of the holy grandfather, there is in our generation our teacher and rabbi, the holy one of Israel. So the honor of the Admor, Sidna Rabbi Shlomo Busu shlita. - My teachers and rabbis, I know that the people, blessed be He, have been standing here a long time. The last time I was at a conference of activists there were about 150; now, thank Hashem, in a short time, we are speaking here of hundreds, and these, it is already wonder of wonders, it is all - whatever is connected with our teacher is above nature.

2:26:47 I only want to say to you, I understand that here the purpose of the conference here is how to create the streams, to increase the thirst for the Torah of our teacher, and there is no doubt that this is important. The insights that our teacher brings are things we never heard, wonder of wonders. Gentlemen, our teacher is a rabbi of the entire Jewish people, of all the factions, of all the circles.

2:27:14 Simply the Torah, the power of the knowledge of Torah that is in him is accompanied by immense humility. These words, that he speaks like this, in a low voice, this is the power of humility. With his knowledge he could speak like a hundred roshei yeshiva and say, and [unclear] And this title of holiness and purity and knowledge of Torah this is something very powerful, gentlemen.

2:27:46 To spread the Torah of our teacher, as many immense insights as possible, every time one is amazed. [unclear], simply one can describe that there is like this in our generation, perhaps for several generations, I do not know what there was, knowledge of Torah like this with humility and holiness like this. We bless him, - Yasher koach to the great Gaon, Rabbi Shlomo Busu shlita.

2:28:16 We ask the holy public right now to sit in their places. There will be a few niggunim here in honor of the holiday of Chanukah and in honor of the holy Torah, niggunim together with the Rav. We ask the holy public to participate. The Rav has spoken with us many times about the world of niggun. A wonderful thing, that many times when we are with the Rav, many times they also bless the Rav, the Rav is accustomed to bless all of the Jewish people, and many times when they bless the Rav, the Rav sometimes asks like this, bless me that I should have the power of playing, the power of niggun.

2:28:53 Niggun is not only knowing how to play the piano, it is knowing how to play on the strings of the heart. The niggun is the Torah that is called song, the niggun is a world of angels, the niggun is a world of teshuvah. We will participate together with a holy and pure niggun, together with our teacher the Rav shlita. We ask once again of the public, if possible please, to come inside and sit in their places.
