What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Dov Ber Weisman’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

All right. So, we're talking about shalom. We're talking about shalom. Actually, we are. Shalom means peace and wholeness. What we're trying to ensure that you have all the information and tools and support you need to create an awesome life. Isn't that great? >> And this is what we're doing so far. We said you have to have the goal in mind. And we said the goal in life is three things. Number one, improve yourself. That means your character traits. Number two, improve the world. That means have a positive impact on the world around you. And number three is spiritual you. And number three is spiritual awareness, spiritual connection, Torah, mitzvah, God, shabas, that stuff. [snorts] And then we said in order to achieve that, you have to be doing what it takes to achieve those things. So if you have a goal of being healthy, but you're smoking a lot and drinking a lot and eating gluten and sugar and not doing exercise, then you're not doing what it takes in order to achieve a goal. You might look at me and say, "I know that. I'm not an idiot." But everyone knows that, but they're still everyone knows that, but they're still not doing it because they're lazy and it feels nice to smoke and eat and stuff. So, we said there's something called a meaningful life. And that's a life that you're living in line with your goals. To the extent that you're living in line with your goals, and we said your goals are improve yourself, improve the world, and spirituality. To the extent you're doing that, you'll be having a meaningful life. And we said the two amazing things about this is number one, it's the key to everything you want in life. Happiness, self-esteem, good relationships, and meaning. And it's up to you. You get to choose how great you
