0:00 The holy Baal Shem Tov used to say that a person who receives a blessing even from a simple man, or from anyone, it is such a great thing that in Heaven it counts for more than the blessing of the angel Michael. To such an extent, through the influence of the one who blesses. This is also in the Mishnah Berurah, siman 215, se'if 9. He writes that it is stated (cited) in the name of the Midrash that whoever hears his fellow praying - answers, even though it does not mention Hashem's name - he is obligated to answer Amen after him.
0:31 That is, if one hears a person blessing so-and-so, a person who comes to everyone and says to him: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good year, then answer Amen, believing with complete faith that the blessing that this simple Jew blessed me with can be accepted, can come true. As we learned from Rabbi Yishmael, to whom Hashem, blessed be He, said: "Bless me." It is written in the Yalkut Shimoni on Rus, chapter 3, remez 606, it says: "Rabbi Yochanan said: a person should always go to greet an old man, so that he will bless him."
1:08 That a person should not hold himself back from going to an old man so that he will bless him. That a person should not hold himself back from going after some old man he sees, so that he will bless him. Many times people see some simple man or old man and do not know who he is, perhaps it is Eliyahu, of blessed memory. Even one who suffers, it does not matter who he is, one must go after him, said Rabbi Yochanan, and make a great effort, with all kinds of devices, to get a blessing out of him.
1:36 And that a person should not look at any obstacle, and should say to him: bless me, bless me. And believe with complete faith that this is the blessing of that person. That old man, that simple man, it does not matter who he is, his blessing can come true and bear fruit up above, high above. Therefore one must go to be blessed by him, and greet an old man and make an effort that he bless you; so says Rabbi Yochanan. Our teacher the holy Or HaChaim writes in Parshas Haazinu that there are angels in Heaven who have wings, who carry only the blessings that go out from the mouth of the Jewish people when they bless one another.
2:11 When a person blesses another, angels with wings come out of this, who take those blessings. Therefore one must be careful when someone says a blessing, some good thing, to answer Amen! and not only to hear the blessing of that simple man or the person who blesses, and say to him: to you too, 'and likewise to the master,' and so on (indifferently). The love and complete faith in the blessing of each and every one is very important.
2:37 And not to belittle, Heaven forbid, any blessing of any Jew, or anyone who blesses the Jewish people, and anyone who answers a blessing, to answer Amen, and to honor, and help, and support, and encourage. And to hope that, with Hashem's help, the Holy One, blessed be He, will have mercy on us and redeem us, and that there will be good influences for everyone, and that everyone will have a good year.
