hi everyone welcome to another edition of the sparm chatter podcast on this episode of the podcast I'm going to be joined by Michelle margoles who is the Norman e Alexander librarian for Jewish studies at Columbia and Sharon liberman minz who is the curator of Jewish art at the library of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and we'll be discussing the Jews of Corfu this is a an ongoing exhibit I think that they are Co curating together uh with Columbia and jts about the Jews of Corfu so we will get in we will discuss the exhibit will get in we will discuss the exhibit and the history of the Jews of coru and I for some listeners where Corfu is and what Corfu is um okay so um I'll start with you Michelle um I had you you were on the podcast or more really I guess accurately is when it was live shows a long time ago many years ago yes so start off we'll start off with you tell the listeners about yourself and your background uh sure um so I grew up in Baltimore and I went to Bako regular uh Baltimore and I went to Bako regular uh you know standard sort of from background uh then my undergrad is from is in history from the University of Maryland Baltimore County um and I have a masters in Jewish studies from NYU and a masters in library science from Long Island University um I started my very first job was at the University of Pennsylvania as a reference librarian for Jewish studies um and now through a series are just wonderful events I am here at Columbia um cating their amazing judica

  10. 55:14of yivan Corfu at a certain point um pretty early we're talking about the the 14th
