so good morning so this week we start the new book of the third book of the Torah the book of vayikra The Book of Leviticus and it begins with the words VRA El Moshe God Called to Moshe from the tent of meeting that had just been built and he's going to start giving him instructions and he gives him instructions about various different types of sacrifices we've done a number of classes about sacrifices we both of classes about sacrifices we both spoke about why Hashem would want sacrifices we've spoken about the various different types of sacrifices so we've given a number of classes on sacrifices uh but the uh the paraa speaks about the various goes through various types of sacrifices various animals that could be offered um cows sheep goats or Birds um pigeons or doves or um there were also flower sacrifices or um there were also flower sacrifices brought from with flour made from flour and oil um all burned on the altar some of which some of the animals and some of it was eaten as well and um there are various types of sacrifices there is a burned offering that is burned on the altar there is a sin offering brought for various sins there's a guilt offering brought for other sins there is a um peace offering that was brought for celebration so there were various types of offerings and the Torah in this
