So, in the Mincha prayer, we recited the "Nahem" prayer for the mourners of Zion and the stones of Jerusalem. I say it at Mincha, although there are many Sephardic communities that say it at Arvit, Mincha, and Shacharit as well. They say it in all three prayers; each person follows their own customs. The Baladi tradition says it in all three prayers, I believe. Others say it only once, during the Mincha prayer. Just like the disputes regarding those who put on Tefillin in the morning or in the afternoon at the synagogue; each to their own custom. Let me recite a portion of the prayer: "Comfort, Hashem our God, the mourners of Zion and the mourners of Jerusalem, and the mourning and desolate city.""Comfort, Hashem our God"–this is the Haftarah of the week's Torah portion: "Comfort, comfort My people.""Comfort, Hashem our God, the mourners of Zion and the mourners of Jerusalem, and the mourning, desolate, despised, and devastated city ; mourning because she is without her children, desolate of her dwellings, despised of her glory, and devastated of inhabitants; she sits with her head covered like a barren woman who has not given birth." We will suffice with that ; it concludes: "Blessed are You, Hashem, who comforts Zion and builds Jerusalem." Gentlemen, there is a book called Meirat Eynayim.
