0:06 Ai, ai, one second, [unclear] Today we have the merit, baruch Hashem, that our teacher and Rav, the wondrous tzaddik, the mighty Gaon, the Yanuka, Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Be'eri, is visiting the Talmud Torah.

0:55 We have the merit, of course, that his son learns with us, and the father - we have the merit that he comes here to strengthen us. The very fact that he is here already strengthens. I see the students here, even in first grade, on the windows, to see the Rav. And the very fact that the Rav is here already strengthens us. Of course we will also hear words of the Rav's Torah, and the Rav will bless you, with Hashem's help, that you grow up to be Torah scholars. Please, honored Rav.

1:22 - May the Holy One, blessed be He, give you much blessing, may you have miracles and wonders, may you have a good life, may you have a good life. I saw the classes, their thorough knowledge in Torah, in Mishnah, in Scripture. It is wondrous how they teach them by heart. And a great yasher koach to Rabbi Menashe, the tzaddik, the principal of the Talmud Torah, and to all the honored rabbis who are engaged in holiness, in the holy work of Torah study, teaching them in the way of holiness, as it should be.

1:56 I can only bless you that the Holy One, blessed be He, give you success, that the Name of Heaven become beloved through you, that you be careful about the honor of your parents, about the honor of your teachers, about the honor of Torah scholars, about the honor of each person toward his fellow. Be careful with the honor of each and every one. Learn the Torah with awe and fear. Value each and every moment that you are at this age and in this time, because this is the main thing, and your whole life - these are the foundations, and everything that will be will be built on this.

2:31 Everything that will happen to you all the days of your life depends on this age, now, while you are small, when you have the strength to return to Hashem, to understand Hashem. In the Yerushalmi the Sages teach us that Rabbi Yehoshua's mother - in Tractate Yevamos, chapter 1, halachah 9 - the Yerushalmi tells that Rabbi Yehoshua's mother took him when he was a baby in the cradle, and she would put him inside the beis midrash so that he would hear the voices of the Torah scholars, how they sit and learn Torah.

3:02 And truly we need to understand what there is in learning a word of Torah that they teach us when we are small. After all, a person who is small can hardly listen; after all, a person who is small can hardly listen; he has no understanding, he has no knowledge. Rather, the meaning is that the Yerushalmi teaches us that there is great importance in your being small now and absorbing sounds of kedushah, that you are absorbing sounds of Torah, that you hear words of Torah from the rabbis, that you write words of Torah.

3:30 You sanctify your hands, your eyes, your ears, your thoughts. You connect to Hashem, blessed be He, in such a hard generation of exile and darkness, and you are busy with this lofty thing. This is the greatest thing. The Yerushalmi in Sanhedrin, chapter 11, halachah 2 - it is written: if there are no young goats, there are no grown goats. What does this mean? The Yerushalmi explains that in the merit of those little ones who sit now - and you are busy with Torah in this time of yours, in the time when you are young goats - you will be great grown goats.

4:01 You will also merit to be masters of great wisdom, you will be Torah scholars, you will reach outstanding levels in Torah. But it is this time now that you must use with all your strength, and be careful to honor your parents and your teachers. And I very much want, as much as possible, as much as truly possible, that you give esteem and importance to your rabbis who teach you Torah.

4:28 You need to know that this is self-sacrifice, very, very great, and very, very great difficulty, for every rabbi and every teacher, and for the principal, who goes and toils and labors and wants to teach you, and wants you to be holy and to rise higher, and to have Torah and knowledge, and that you come close to Hashem. And there is a very great responsibility in this, at this age, to teach you, because all the foundations, everything that will be built - your whole life - is this age.

4:54 And you need very, very much to show gratitude and to help them, and to make it easier for them, and to see whoever behaves not nicely - to show him a shining face, to show him a kind face, to calm him, to see everything he is going through. There was an enactment in Usha - in Tractate Kesubos, page 50a - in the name of Rabbi Yitzchak, who says that in Usha they enacted that a person should bear patiently with his son until twelve years; from then on he would strike him and be strict with him, at this age, when he was older.

5:18 It does not mean that it was, Heaven forbid, with suffering or with hardship; rather, the meaning is that he had to speak with him with soft words, to explain to him... even if it is hard for him, one must speak with him with soft words. But from then on, if one also sees a person, one must also know how to explain to him with awe that these things he is doing are not okay. One must guard the kedushah, the purity, the derech eretz, the Talmud Torah, the unity between friends, be very, very, very careful, as with a glass vessel, with each and every heart that you have here in the Talmud Torah, with each and every child.

5:51 You don't know what home each one comes from, you don't know what home each one goes back to, you don't know where each one comes from, where the principal came from, where the rabbi came from, where he goes back to - each one has many worries and troubles and things. You must always have a settled mind, always do good, always shine. You will feel the Shechinah. You will know that when one serves Hashem properly, when a person cleaves to Hashem, when a person fears Hashem greatly, he merits Hashgachah from Above.

6:21 In Tractate Beitzah, page 16a, the Sages teach us that a person's sustenance is allotted to him from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur. And one must understand this: what does it mean that a person's sustenance is allotted to him.. except for the expenses of Shabbosos and Yamim Tovim and the expense of his children's Torah study. You see from this that Hashem, blessed be He, watches with a precise, individual Hashgachah over the matter of Shabbos, of Yom Tov. But another very lofty and precious thing is the holy children who go to Talmud Torah, that you sit and learn Torah in the Talmud Torah.

6:53 You shine a very great light in Heaven, and Hashem, blessed be He, watches over you with a precise, individual Hashgachah, to such an extent. And from here one must learn that the matter of Torah study too, and the expenses of Shabbos and Yamim Tovim too - it all comes back to a person, because this hints at individual Hashgachah: that Shabbos is dear to Hashem, blessed be He, Yom Tov is dear to Him, and this age of yours is dear to Him, when you are busy with His Torah.

7:18 Make use of this. It is very precious to Hashem. And one must be very, very, very careful with the honor of each and every one. I, the small and lowly one, bless you that you succeed, that you have Heavenly assistance, that you learn Torah with a settled mind, and precisely and correctly. One of the five things that Rabbi Akiva commanded Rabbi Shimon, in Tractate Pesachim, page 112a, is that they always beware of a faulty text: to teach them, the students, the Torah in a correct, precise way.

7:46 So I saw that here they are careful about the texts, and teach them the Mishnah precisely, word for word, so that everything is word for word, from beginning to end, as it should be. May the Holy One, blessed be He, bless you that you always be careful to learn Torah with a settled mind, and always remember the Torah properly, and also remember it: 'Write them on the tablet of your heart.' It does not say 'write them on the tablet of your brain' - 'Write them on the tablet of your heart': to remember the Torah in the heart, to honor all of the Jewish people, to love all of the Jewish people, to learn the Torah with desire, with enthusiasm, to treasure the Torah.

8:17 The more a person treasures the Torah and loves the Torah, so too from Heaven they shine a face upon him. 'As water reflects face to face' - it is all measure for measure. But a person who does not treasure the Torah - it is impossible afterward to receive salvation from it. Therefore, the more you value and feel and understand that you are busy with the loftiest thing, so too from Heaven you will have more abundance and kedushah, and you will see the benefit of the Torah study.

8:44 And may Hashem, blessed be He, bless you with length of days and years, and may you be Torah scholars, and be great and holy and pure, and succeed in all matters. 'Length of days is in her right hand; in her left, wealth and honor.' 'And you shall say: So may it be for life; peace to you, and peace to your house, and peace to all that is yours.' May Hashem, blessed be He, bless the Rav. May you have success, may you have all good, and from all good, amen. May you do valiantly and shine the light of Hashem, in visible and revealed good, out of joy and gladness of heart.

9:09 - Rav, they are going on to yeshivos - a blessing for the yeshivos. - May the Holy One, blessed be He, bless you that you go in the way of holiness, to a holy yeshiva of Torah scholars, a splendid one. Go in the way of holiness, and remember all the foundations that we learned here, because they are the foundations, and they are the very body of the Torah. They are the vessels that will bring you to a great and very, very wondrous light, to a great and very, very wondrous light. I told them a story here earlier, about Rabbi Chanoch Henich Schick of Shklov.

9:35 I will tell it to you too, so that you hear the story, because it is a very stirring story. Rabbi Chanoch Henich of Shklov was a grandson of the Tosafos Yom Tov, and he merited an exceptionally long life. He passed the age of one hundred - truly very exceptional. He was the study partner of the Pri Megadim. And they asked him, when he was of very advanced age, how he merited length of days and years. So he said to them: The reason I merited length of days and years is that when I was small, as one who sits and learns - I sat and learned as a little boy - our teacher's spectacles, his glasses, broke.

10:08 They fell on the floor, and the students laughed at him when they saw that his glasses had fallen and he doesn't see well; they laughed at him. And he picked up some page, because he thought it was holy writings, and he kissed it, and they laughed at him even more - how he doesn't see... And he said: I was the only one who cried. As a child I cried, because I had pity on him. He asked me: My son, why are you crying? I told him: because of what they did to you. He blessed me with length of days, and I merited wisdom and length of days and all kinds of abundance, only because of this deed.

10:38 Know that when you think of one another, and of the teachers and of the parents and of everyone, you will see Heavenly assistance, and you will have success in good shidduchim, and you will have success in length of days and years, with lasting offspring, in everything you want for life. Always remember that these are the best ways to acquire the Torah, and to obtain it, and to come close to Hashem. So our Sages taught us.

11:02 May the Holy One, blessed be He, grant you success, that you be great grown goats, Torah scholars busy with Torah and its mitzvos, and that the Name of Hashem, blessed be He, become beloved through you. Great success, and all good and from all good. Great success, and all good and from all good. - Tractate Sukkah, chapter 1, mishnah 1: 'A sukkah that is higher than twenty amos is invalid...'

11:54 Chapter 1, mishnah 3: 'If he spread a sheet over it because of the sun...' Megillah, chapter 1, mishnah 1: 'The Megillah is read on the eleventh, on the twelfth, on the thirteenth, on the fourteenth, on the fifteenth, not less and not more...' - Amazing, amazing.

12:26 You know, it is written in Tractate Avos, in chapter 4, mishnah 20, in the Mishnah, in Tractate Avos, that Elisha ben Avuyah says that whoever learns as a child - and you are children now - it is like ink that is written on new paper. And so everything begins, everything from the start. Everything that you learn is the most important thing there is - know this. How important it is that you now sit and learn Torah.

12:51 You are busy with the greatest thing in the world. Now is the time; this is your age. It is written in Avos d'Rabbi Nasan, chapter 24, mishnah 4 - there is Avos d'Rabbi Nasan and there is Tractate Avos - there is Avos d'Rabbi Nasan and there is Tractate Avos - it is written there that whenever a person learns Torah in his childhood, the words of Torah are absorbed into his blood. The words of Torah are being absorbed into your blood now, and they come out of his mouth clearly.

13:17 When you grow up, anything they ask, you will know; everything will come out clear and plain. Why? Because you learned Torah now, while you are small, so all the words of Torah are absorbed into your blood. And you are busy with the greatest thing there is. You have no idea what a great merit it is, what you are doing. Just be happy and learn, just be happy and learn, and be busy with the Torah of Hashem, and this is the greatest thing there is.

13:51 May the Holy One, blessed be He, give you blessing, give you a good life, Torah scholars, and may you succeed; may the Name of Heaven become beloved through you. Always be happy. Love one another and honor one another. This is the most important thing there is, the most important, with Hashem's help. May the Holy One, blessed be He, gladden you, give you all the good influences, all your heart's wishes, for good. This is the most important age now: that you sit and learn and are busy - this is the most important thing of all.

14:21 Learn the words of Torah in holiness, with awe, with fear, to honor each and every thing, each and every word that you hear and that you read and write. Know that it is as when it was given at Sinai. It is a thing of fire, a flame, a fire of the flame of G-d. With Hashem's help, may the Holy One, blessed be He, gladden you. With Hashem's help, may you grow to Torah, to the chuppah, and to good deeds. Honor your parents, your teachers, the principal, help them, judge your friends favorably, help one another, love one another.

14:50 This is the most important thing there is: not to insult anyone, not to hurt anyone, not to insult anyone, not to hurt anyone. I'll tell you a nice story. There was a holy tzaddik, the Gaon Rabbi Chanoch Henich Schick of Shklov. He was a grandson of the Tosafos Yom Tov. He was a very great Gaon, and a tzaddik, a Torah scholar. And they tell about him, once - he lived a long life; he was the study partner of the Pri Megadim - have you heard of him?

15:15 He lived truly exceptionally long. They asked him, when he was old: How did you live so long? In what did you merit length of days? He said to them: when I was small, I would sit with the children, and our teacher - his spectacles, his glasses, fell off, his glasses broke, and he saw some page on the floor; he thought it was words of Torah, he picked it up and kissed it, and everyone laughed at him. All the children laughed at him, because it was just a page; there were no words of Torah in it.

15:41 And the teacher picked it up and kissed it like this, as if it were words of Torah. He was afraid that it had fallen, and everyone laughed at him. And he said: I cried. Rabbi Chanoch said about himself: I cried. I was the only child who cried, for everyone laughed at him, and I cried. So he said to me: Why did you cry, child? So I told him: because everyone laughed at you, and you, because you didn't see what it was... So he said - he blessed me with length of days and years. He said: that is the blessing that stood by me, because I was careful with the teacher's honor, because I was careful with his honor and did not laugh at him, and I was pained when I saw that they disgraced him.

16:12 That is the thing that lengthened my days. And he merited length of days and years; he passed the age of one hundred. He was something great. Learn from this, with Hashem's help. May you have much nachas and joy, and strengthen the parents and the teachers, with Hashem's help. Good, good tidings, with success in all matters, fear of Heaven, kedushah, purity, good influences, nachas and joy. I was happy to see you.

16:42 Thank you very much Shalom, shalom...
