If not for my covenant, day and night, lo samti, the uh um the laws of heaven and earth, lo samti, I would not have placed. Traditionally, we understand this idea to say that the laws of the creation, the uh necessity of building a world, Hashem says, is only due and is only worthwhile in his eyes uh assuming a situation of Torah observance. So, if not for the receiving of the Torah, I would not have in placed the Torah, I would not have in placed the laws of heaven and earth, the cycle of uh uh of the planets, the uh the development of all living uh living and breathing life. All of this was in the merit of the Torah. In fact, this idea is given another uh expression in the teaching of our Chachamim where the Gemara tells us on the words Yom Hashishi that when God counted down the days Yom Rishon, Yom Sheni, comes to Yom Rishon, Yom Sheni, comes to Yom Hashishi, what is the sixth day? Says the Gemara, there was a tenai, a condition that God made on the creation of the world which took six days that those six days would be dependent on Yom Hashishi, the sixth day. What was that sixth day? What was it referring to? It was referring to the sixth day of Sivan which was the day of the receiving of the Torah.
