0:01 The Rav here is the rosh yeshiva of a yeshiva for French baalei teshuvah. Rav Ron Chaya — he brings merit to the many, also with booklets, all over the world, and he also has a yeshiva here in Israel. We came, the whole yeshiva, to ask if the Rav could give a blessing, say some words of encouragement, and also a message, also about the situation — some say we are heading toward war — also in France: how to behave, what to do, how... - Oho, what a holy yeshiva you have!

0:28 First-rate, first-rate, every one of them, thank G-d. Oho, Torah scholars! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I would like, perhaps, to make a blessing: 'Blessed are You, Hashem our G-d, King of the universe, who has given of His wisdom to those who fear Him.' - Amen. - What should we answer the Jewish people in the Diaspora and here in the Land, facing a war? Is it better to move up to the Land or better to stay in France — things like that.

0:53 - First of all, the Land of Israel — always, 'all may compel moving up to the Land of Israel', 'all may compel moving up to Jerusalem'. We must always cleave — When one flees, one must always flee to Hashem, blessed be He. Whenever a person wants to flee, he must flee to Hashem, blessed be He. And why is the Land of Israel called 'Eretz Yisrael'? 'Eretz Yisrael' comes from 'artzeh', to want — to be 'yashar la-Kel', straight to G-d.

1:19 That is its meaning... it is a land in which the desire grows stronger to cleave to Hashem, blessed be He; and all the mitzvos that depend on the Land of Israel, and the delight of our fathers, and all the miracles that are destined to happen here in the Land of Israel: 'As in the days when you went out of the land of Egypt, I will show him wonders.' 'I will show him' is in the future tense. You see that the Land of Israel is the delight of all our fathers. And the Pnei Yehoshua, on Tractate Kesubos, on page 110 — the Pnei Yehoshua explains that one who lives, who dwells in the Land of Israel, and does not have in mind, for the sake of — he does not... for him it is 'a commandment of men learned by rote', he is not

1:53 moved by the fact that he lives in the Land, he does not feel it, he does not receive all its influences to draw down the holiness of the Land of Israel. One must be precise in the words of the Pnei Yehoshua, in what he writes: that a person appreciates where he is. So first of all, if a person wants to flee somewhere — let him appreciate the Land of Israel, let him understand where he is. In Kesubos, on page 110, on page 111: 'He dwells without sin', 'he is like one who has a G-d.' Why?

2:19 Because he is fleeing to Hashem, blessed be He, in the Land of Israel. You are in the place, the holiest place in the world. Understand how much our forefathers' fathers wanted and longed to come here, to yearn for here, to be here in the Land of Israel. How much self-sacrifice they made — they traveled on ships and drowned on the way, and went on the roads, and went on horses and on donkeys and on camels, only to come here, 40 and 50 and 60 and 100 years ago.

2:44 We today are here, touching, going to the holy places, and seeing Jerusalem and praying — it is the greatest privilege. First of all, one must feel that it is already beginning to sparkle in the light of Hashem's closeness to us, and to make use of and grab every moment that it is possible to be here in the Land of Israel. So if one wants to flee, one need not flee abroad; if one wants to flee, one must flee to Hashem, blessed be He.

3:09 'Yashar la-Kel', straight to G-d, is Eretz Yisrael; 'eretz' from 'artzeh', to want, and straight, to come close to Hashem, blessed be He. Therefore in the Land of Israel the desire and the yearning and the longing for Hashem, blessed be He, grow stronger. And you know, there is truly — why the world... if you look, There is, many people in the world who are outside the Land have more livelihood and abundance, and those who are in the Land of Israel have less livelihood. This is a very puzzling thing — and why?

3:42 Because the whole root of livelihood is drawn from the desire for, and the holiness of, the Land of Israel. And because of this it fits with what I said: if, Heaven forbid, a person is in the Land of Israel and wants to leave it, and longs to, or like those who envy those who live outside the Land, or go out on some vacation outside the Land — they envy them — at the moment a person covets this and envies a foreign land and wants to leave, he loses a great deal of his livelihood. And exactly the opposite: those who are outside the Land yearn and long so much to come to the Land of Israel, and want to come to the Land of Israel, and they cannot, because it is withheld from them — this desire

4:21 draws down abundant livelihood for them. So see how careful one must be: we in the Land of Israel must always be happy that we are in the Land of Israel, without wanting to leave it, because that, Heaven forbid, loses... Whereas the opposite — those of the Land of Israel who yearn to be in the Land of Israel — that is what draws down livelihood for them. So therefore we see from here how much the Land of Israel is the desire to connect to Hashem, blessed be He. There are so many things in this; one could go on at length about what the Land of Israel is.

4:46 So if they ask you: one must always be happy here about the Land of Israel, as much as possible. And to be afraid — it is forbidden to be afraid of anything in the world. - Even of everything that is going to happen? - Look, talking — everyone says what is about to happen. They always threaten us, they always try to destroy us, they always try to tell us what, and they always try — always, it will not help. But King David says in Psalm 27, in Tehillim: 'Should war rise up against me, in this I trust.

5:13 One thing I asked of Hashem, that I will seek.' In Midrash Shocher Tov, in siman 27, it is written in the Midrash: 'The Holy One, blessed be He, said to David: You are a liar! You ask one request — 'one thing I asked' — and you ask for many good things: 'that I may dwell in the house of Hashem, to behold the pleasantness of Hashem and to visit His sanctuary', 'for He will hide me in His shelter' — you said one, and you ask for so much! So much you ask, and you said: I ask one request. And on the one hand you ask for so much, without measure?

5:38 So from here you learn that King David in fact asked one request of Hashem, blessed be He; in this request all the blessings are included. all the blessings, He asks 'that I may dwell in the house of Hashem' — the house of Hashem is Jerusalem, it is the Beis HaMikdash, the Holy Temple; it is the place; it is the greatest request. And also, 'should war rise up against me' — also — 'in this I trust'. 'In this' — 'this' is the holy Shechinah. One must trust in Hashem and not be afraid of anything in the world. We are a people trained in miracles, we are a people used to miracles, and the Holy One, blessed be He, does not abandon the Jewish people and will not abandon the Jewish people.

6:10 And we need not be afraid of anything, we need not fear anything, one need not panic over anything in the world. Even if now we were to see the whole world, the whole world, rise up to war, and everyone surrounding us, like Sancheriv, who was at Jerusalem, and Chizkiyahu sat and prayed before Hashem, blessed be He, on the night of Pesach, the Seder night, everyone rejoicing. Sancheriv had a very cruel army; it would seize the people and impale them and cut them and torture them.

6:40 His army would put stuffed beasts on their faces; they would disguise themselves, putting on, as wolves, as bears, as lions. They would surround — some say there were 380 million legions who were mighty men and officers and trained in war, and it was not possible at all to defeat them. Whoever just saw Sancheriv's army would flee. Chizkiyahu sees them and goes to sleep; he is not afraid of anything. We can learn from this how great the power is of the Sages, of the tzaddikim, of the prophets, of our kings who were here in the Land of Israel — how they trusted so much regarding the Land of Israel and were not afraid of anything in the world.

7:20 This strength and this trust we must broadcast to everyone: we are not afraid and not dismayed by anything in the world, and we are not frightened. And 'should war rise up against me, in this I trust' — I trust in the holy Shechinah, in Hashem, blessed be He, that He is with us and will not abandon us and will not forsake us. And we will be strong, and we will be mighty warriors, and we will go on learning Torah and praying. And we are a people of eternity, a people of eternity, a people that will never be put to shame.

7:48 It is written, 'the days of Purim will not be annulled from their seed', right? In the Midrash, Midrash Shocher Tov, in parashah 9, it is written that 'the days of Purim, it will not cease from their seed'. So it is written in this Midrash: these days of Purim will never be annulled. So what is this? 'The days of Purim will never be annulled' — as it was in the Megillah, that what they tried to do to us will never be annulled. Purim is not annulled. So if Purim is not annulled, then who will try to annul the Jewish people? If Purim is never annulled, with Hashem's help, then we are still in the days of Purim.

8:17 We have Mordechai the Jew and Esther the Queen, and Haman the wicked — may Hashem, blessed be He, annul him. - Amen. We must always rejoice and see ourselves: the Holy One, blessed be He, is with us, does not abandon us, will not abandon us. For us, the tzaddikim — in Tractate Berachos, page 18a: 'The righteous in their death are called living.' Mordechai still exists, and Esther still exists, and they see what we are going through, and they fast and pray for us and do not abandon us, and we will win, and we will be full of hope and full of joy — that is the most important, to be full of strength and hope and joy, not to fear and not to be afraid of anything in the world. - Amen.

8:53 The most important is not to be afraid of anything in the world. Not a sick person lying on his sickbed... In Tractate Berachos, page 10a, at the end of the Gemara, the Gemara says: Rabbi Yochanan and Rabbi Elazar both say: 'Even if a sharp sword rests on a person's neck, he should not hold himself back from prayer for mercy, as it is said: Though He slay me, I will hope in Him.' No matter what, it is forbidden to be afraid of anything. Even if they were to say it, and come with a sword, we are not afraid of anything.

9:17 We pray more, we plead more before the Holy One, blessed be He, before the great, mighty and awesome G-d. That's it. We will fear Hashem, and we will be joyful, and we will be full of hope, and Hashem, blessed be He, is with us. You know how mighty they are, how righteous your students are — how much merit you have that you raised up so much strength, and how righteous they are. - We are small. - You are great, you are great, you are tzaddikim. How much Hashem, blessed be He, rejoices in you in this generation — to merit to shine the light of Hashem in this generation, to merit saying a verse, saying a teaching, mentioning Abaye, learning Mishnah, learning Gemara, to shine the light of Hashem — this is the greatest merit there is.

9:53 This is sweetness, these are great and awesome souls. This is 'fortunate are you, Israel'. 'Fortunate is the people for whom it is so, fortunate is the people whose G-d is Hashem.' There are no words at all to describe them, your Torah scholars. With Hashem's help, may you have much nachas, and may you merit to raise up many students. - Amen. - With Hashem's help, may your borders grow with many students, and may you go on to do great things. May you have protection and defense, you and all that is yours, may you have all the good blessings, with Hashem's help. - Amen.

10:20 Sing for them! - [singing] 'Fortunate is the people for whom it is so, fortunate is the people whose G-d is Hashem.' [singing] 'Fortunate is the people for whom it is so, fortunate is the people whose G-d is Hashem.' Be strong, be strong, your honor! May you have good tidings. - Amen, amen.

11:22 Certainly, certainly, yes, blessing and success A complete recovery from Heaven. May the Holy One, blessed be He, bless them with healing and life. Good tidings. Blessing and success
