[Music] Hi, this is Rabbi David Orlovski and welcome to the Rabbi Orlowski show. In the everchanging saga of the sign, you may notice that uh the sign actually has uh changed. I asked the producer about this and he explained that he felt that the sign had put on too much weight in the last show and he forced it onto a strict diet. And as you can see now, it Beth and Mati Freriedman in honor of their children Miriam and Shia Heck. Here's what they wrote. Who are reviving the FIRM community of my hometown of East Meadow, New York. Now, this this is a tricky lion. I I've thought about this lion. I don't think they're reviving the from community because I don't know if there was a from community. Now, this is this is such an interesting story because um when the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County started, there were almost no Orthodox kids coming. Ray Fendel went no Orthodox kids coming. Ray Fendel went out to Long Island and went to West Hamstead. There was no Orthodox Shaw. You know, he put an ad in a local paper, nine men looking to start a minion. He later wrote a book about his experiences and that's what he titled it. Um and uh the majority of the kids who were coming were not were not coming from Orthodox homes. Yeah. We have a uh Fendel told me two stories that uh that made such an impact on me to understand what it was like back then. Um
