Kanan in Tanakh means a business person, a merchant. And he explained how the entire process of creation and of life is based on the concept of how business works. The reason that Hashem made and designed in the world that business works in this fashion where I have to invest and so to speak squander money with a risk that it may be lost in the with a risk that it may be lost in the process in the investment whether I'm buying merchandise that I have to then sell afterwards and make a profit and a revenue or I'm investing in a venture or in a corporation or in a business whatever it is whatever form of business it is but even in the most classic ancient sense where I buy something and then ultimately I'm going to sell it. There is always that element of risk. Sometimes it's a small risk where the revenue will be smaller. Sometimes it's a big risk because it's more money and there's more at stake and I have to sell
