There's [clears throat] no question. Hashem is perfect. Hashem is infinite. And that's why you will see a lot of sources which say that everything Hashem does is not for himself. He doesn't need anything. He doesn't need to eat the bread. He's perfect. He doesn't need anybody. He just does it for our sake. This is one perspective. Which is explored in many holy books. Avodas Hakodesh of Meir ben Gabbai, one of the greatest Kabbalists, 6th to 15th century. Some of the greatest mystics have an expression Avodas Tzorech Gavoah Hi, which means serving God is a need of Hashem. It's a need for Hashem. Which raises eyebrows. When they don't do God's will, they weaken His power. Matisyahu Korkush is based on a Gemara in Shabbos Daf Peh Tes, Hashem told Moshe, "Hayah Li l'cholah zera you should have helped me." And Moshe said, "Va'atah Yigdal No'ach Ko'ach Adonai Ka'asher Dibarta Leimor, let the power of the Lord be strengthened." A Gemara in Brachos, Hashem tells Yishmael, "Borchayni, bless me." And other sources in the Tanakh and in the Chazal, where there's an indication that we can so to speak be there for God. Which is very, very difficult to
