0:00 Every time we learn something new, with Hashem's help. We are now at a bris milah. We know that Eliyahu HaNavi, the angel of the covenant, comes to every bris milah. At every bris there is now, Eliyahu HaNavi, may he be remembered for good, comes. Because he was zealous for Hashem, so he, as it were, cannot come to every place, for perhaps there are transgressors in that same place, perhaps, Heaven forbid, there is some flaw in the sandak, in all those involved in the mitzvah, So what did Eliyahu, may he be remembered for good, do? He would pray before the Holy One, blessed be He, that He forgive, in every place he goes.
0:35 And truly this Midrash is a hidden Midrash, because it has no source. Its source is in the great Midrash Tadshe of the sages of Yemen. There this Midrash appears. And from there it spread. Many did not find it in the books, it is written, 'there is no source, there is no source.' That is not true, it has a source. And therefore, anyone who participates in the mitzvah of bris milah - all his sins are forgiven. No sins, no transgressions - truly the person now becomes new and renewed, and is renewed, and he comes out clean, clear and pure.
0:59 But this has something like the law of a wedding: when a person marries, the sins dissipate. What is this dissipating? It is as if it goes out, but if the person goes back, Heaven forbid, it can return. So also at a bris milah, when a person comes, his sins are forgiven, they dissipate from him, they go out of him; and if, Heaven forbid, he returns to his foolishness, it can, Heaven forbid, come back. And so, always when a person comes to a bris milah, let him know that he is clear and pure, he is clean, he starts a new beginning.
1:25 They say that Rebbe Zusha and Rebbe Elimelech would go from town to town; several times, when they had some great tikkun, they would run for some one week, once in a - they would go, or a whole day, every day, to brisos, to merit being within the flow of the holiness of the bris, and truly feel the forgiveness and the atonement, the tikkun of the soul - there are great tikkunim in this, for the soul at the time of the bris milah. There is a very great mitzvah in this. The Minchas Elazar of Munkatch - as Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov writes - that a person who is at a bris milah, or who is even within the four cubits of the sandak, of the mohel, who is considered as if he himself is the sandak,
2:01 Now you know, as it were, how great it is. When everyone is at a bris milah, they intend in this way to make a sanctification of the Name of Heaven, for the honor of the Holy One, blessed be He - when we say 'Hashem is King', 'Shema Yisrael', praising the Name of Hashem - this is the sanctification of His Name, blessed be He, and this is a great time of favor. And at the time the baby cries, there is great satisfaction to the Holy One, blessed be He, Maran the Chida writes that when one prays, it is a time of favor, when one can accomplish before Hashem, blessed be He, whatever one wants.
2:27 At this moment when one prays, it is a great time of favor - so have intention and pray. And may it be His will that our prayers be accepted with mercy and favor.
