A person who kills a "treifa" is exempt according to everyone. The Noda B'Yehuda says the same regarding this: If a person kills a treifa, he is not liable for murder. Liable? So, is it permitted to kill a treifa? What did you ask before? So if that's the case, if a person killed someone who was going to die tomorrow, a hole in the brain, is it permitted to disconnect him from life support because he isn't liable as a murderer? Answer: He is not liable as a murderer, but there is no permission to kill him because, as of now, right this moment, he has a soul, he is alive. It is the same thing here. The fact is that if they shoot down the plane, there is no murderer. The pilot is not liable as a murderer. That is perfectly fine. Okay, so is it permitted now to shoot down the plane? No, because one does not set aside one life for another, and that doesn't apply here anyway. >> Or, now we arrive at the second issue. Perhaps we will come and permit shooting down the plane because the plane has the status of a "pursuer"( rodef). Pursuing whom? The people— they say he wants to crash it into Ben Gurion Airport, so the plane and its passengers have the status of a pursuer toward all those who are at the airport . >> Yes. >> Where is the pursuit? >> Why not? He is pursuing the airport. >> But that is a similar thing that doesn't... >> What difference does it make? It's a human, but there is someone operating the plane with all the passengers—the passengers are currently in... >> No problem, but all the planes and the passengers are going to crash into the airport. So I am looking at the plane. Am I allowed to blow up the plane
