Hi, this is Dov bar-Levsky with our question and answer series where we in a few minutes try to answer readers questions. Is there any Torah source for early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise? That of course was said by Benjamin Franklin. There are those who believe that the safer Choshen HaMishpat was basically a translation of Benjamin Franklin. I don't know if it's true or not. Uh I've heard this on occasion. But this is definitely a Benjamin Franklin uh statement. Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise. I remember seeing a variation of this, early to bed and early to rise makes a person very dull. But um but the concept that he gave was go to sleep early, get up early, start your day, and uh you'll be successful in everything. Is that true or not? So, from a Torah point of view, it's not.
