Good evening. This coming parashah is double Matot and Mas'ei. Yesterday I started to speak about it in Brooklyn. It will be on tonight if you want to listen to it. And today, of course, we'll continue from where I stopped and some other ideas. Um we we saw some of the interesting things in this parashah. There's some questions that we have to ask to understand how how Hashem is thinking. Everything we know about Hashem, obviously, comes from the Torah, written Torah and oral Torah, and Kabbalah. We know how he thinks, we know what he likes, we know what he hates. We know how he react to certain people or certain actions. We learn it from the Torah. It's like an investigation. Some of the things are written clearly. It's written, "I hate this. I love this. Be careful not to do this. And I recommend you do that." But some of the things it's not written directly. You still you have to use your head to compare between one reaction to another. You see, when a person did something bad, the reaction was X. And somebody else did something bad, the reaction was Y, which is much worse than X. Then you compare. Why over here Hashem reacted like this, and here he reacted 10 times worse? What we learn from here? That action Y it's a lot more severe than action X. You understand? This is called binah. When a person has a mind and investigate. Now, the greatest people in the history, the greatest, that had the most brilliant brains that this earth ever had is our sages, Hazal, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, Rabbi Akiva, Rabbi Yochanan. All these great names in the Talmud that you hear about them, they were the greatest people ever lived. You don't need to be a genius to know it. As soon as you begin to see the
