0:05 To burn away all the opinions and all the blemishes, all the false beliefs... one moment... faith in the Torah, amen - to make the holy Torah shine out from all the crooked thinking, all the things that are not good, amen; to make the light of Hashem shine - may it grow strong in all the worlds.

0:35 May it rise and be exalted, with Hashem's help, for safeguarding and protection. Please. On every festival we see a beautiful thing. On every festival the four elements are made to shine. In a person there are fire, wind, water and earth. There are these four elements, and on every festival we raise them up and rectify them. On the three pilgrimage festivals we bring these parts - of fire, wind, water and earth.

1:03 The offering, too, is made of an aspect of fire, of water, depending on what is being offered before the Holy One, blessed be He. And before Hashem, blessed be He, each time a person brings - he brings his animal nature to the Holy One, blessed be He. On every festival, at every season, these four elements are revealed: fire, wind, water, earth. And on the festival of Shavuos we come with the earth. It is the rectification of the sin of Adam HaRishon, of the serpent who cast filth into Chavah. When we received - in Tractate Shabbos, page 88 - the Jewish people were truly great when the Torah was given, on the day the Torah was given, and the Jewish people merited all the heights, all the crowns, all the...

1:42 The moment the Jewish people received the Torah, all the filth of the sin of Adam HaRishon, of the serpent, ceased from them. So therefore, when we received the Torah, we left behind the mashcha dechivya, the serpent's skin - that is the secret of the serpent, which is earth - "and the serpent, earth is his bread" - and this happens on Shavuos, at the receiving of the Torah. Because laziness and sadness and sleep - that comes from the serpent. And so that is the element of earth.

2:06 On Shavuos we rectify the earth and bring it up on High. And on the festival of Shavuos we rectify the water. "On the Festival we are judged for water." The festival of Sukkos. The festival of Sukkos. On Sukkos we rectify the element of water. At the Simchas Beis HaShoevah we rectify the element of water. We bring the rectification of the water when we bring all the vanities, all the cravings, all the bad traits - we bring them there, we raise them up, we pour them out on the altar - the element of water: all the craving and desire for all the things there are in the world.

2:42 Everything there is in this world is the element of water, for it goes and enters into all kinds of places. And it is also the "raging waters"; it gives a person invalid views and things that are not good. And a person cleanses himself - so on the festival of Sukkos we merit to rectify ourselves in this: love for Hashem, longing for Hashem, joy in Hashem. And we rectify all the raging waters that give a person despair and bring him to sadness.

3:06 So that is why there is the Simchas Beis HaShoevah, and there is great joy before Hashem - that a person wants to bring himself into the waters of da'as, to be holy and pure, to cling to Hashem, blessed be He. He gives the Holy One, blessed be He, nachas ruach, and that creates the great joy. And Sukkos is the only time that has in it several elements - two. We have the element of water, and the element of wind: a sukkah that cannot stand in an ordinary wind - that is the element of wind. Wind and water - that is on Sukkos.

3:43 That is the element of wind and water, on Sukkos. And on Pesach, the element that remains is fire, and the burning away of evil. And the mashcha dechivya, the serpent's skin, their filth - this the fire burns up: all the chametz, all the blemishes, all the things that are not good - we burn them away by fire. Many times there are occasions when it cannot be removed by water, and times when it cannot be removed by fire. So therefore, when we keep the pilgrimage festivals and the appointed times, we burn away all the evil from within us.

4:12 For what cannot be done by fire we do by water, by wind, on Sukkos - what cannot be done by fire. And when we come to now - it cannot be done by wind, it cannot be done by water - so we take care to do it by fire; we burn away the evil. And of course, within these elements there are further elements, because each is bound up in the other - one is inside the other. For example, the element of water is also connected to Pesach, because through water there is leavening; it becomes chametz - that is through water.

4:40 It keeps rising - and that rising is from the fire within it - and it becomes chametz. Isn't that so? But there is the main element within each season, and the elements that are subordinate to it. So the element that is the main one, to which the other elements are subordinate - on Pesach it is fire. It is what keeps rising upward. There must be no chametz; there must be nothing that is high and rises upward. And therefore we must thank the Holy One, blessed be He, and praise His Name, and know that He did, does and will do all deeds - as we read of His might and His power and all that He did in Egypt, all the miracles and wonders that He did in Egypt.

5:16 May it be His will that in this merit we will be redeemed with a high hand, and burn away all the evil from the world, and that the kingship of Hashem be revealed in the world.
