So, good to see you all this morning. Um, so this week's I'll start with the para and then we'll get of course to the big event coming up which is Purim and then we'll get to our topic today which as we'll see is also a little porm related. So starting with the para this week is paras kisa which covers a number of different things or kisa. Um it begins by telling us the command to have a half shekele uh that every Jew should bring a half shekele coin and that way they count the people. Um this was done they count the people. Um this was done originally in the desert but we continued every year while the temple stood where every Jewish male would bring a half shekele coin. They would use those half shekele coins to purchase the sacrifices in the temple. Um and um that would be kind of the uh that and that way everybody had a part in the sacrifices. Um the Torah then continues to tell us one item in the Mishkan that we had not yet been commanded to make which is a big earn that the Conan would use to wash their hands and feet. use to wash their hands and feet. Whenever they serve in the temple, they must first always wash their hands and feet. Um in to um commemorate that or to mark that we um we wash our hands before we pray. Um as one of the reasons given is similar to the Coenim who would wash their hands and feet in the temple. They were barefoot in the temple. Um then Hashem gives Moshe command to make this anointing special anointing oil with multiple different spices and they are to use this anointing oil to anoint um
