Welcome to Sparks of History, where Jewish history and world history meets. We are very honored and pleased to have with us today Rabbi Dov Fischer, Esquire. Rabbi Fischer is vice president of the Coalition for Jewish Values, which comprises over 2,000 Orthodox rabbis. Rabbi Fischer was previously an adjunct professor of law at a number of West Coast universities. And Rabbi Fischer currently serves as the rabbi of the Young Israel of Orange County in California. Rabbi Fischer has held leadership roles in several national Jewish organizations, including the ZOA, Zionist Organization of America, the RCA, the Rabbinical Council of America, and regional boards of the American Jewish Committee and B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation. Rabbi Fischer's writings can be found in many, many uh newspapers and periodicals, including Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the Los Angeles Times, The Federalist, National Review, Jerusalem Post, and Israel Hayom. Rabbi Fischer is also the author of two books, including General Sharon's War Against Time magazine, which covered the Israeli general's 1980s landmark libel suit. Rabbi Fischer, thank you for being with us. We appreciate it very much. Delighted to be here. Okay. And today we'll be discussing a a number of issues as it relates to um American Jewry, uh anti-Semitism, uh support for for Israel, anti-Zionism, etc. Um Rabbi Fischer, we we know that there was a a an alliance between um African-Americans and the wider Jewish community during the Civil Rights Movement.
