We're going to explore one idea of one of the great khiddushim of the Alter Rebbe in Tanya known as the sugya of the beinoni. Now, I say the word khiddush with caution because the name of the Tanya is not really Tanya. The name that the Alter Rebbe gave his safer is Rebbe gave his safer is Likutei Amarim. Likutei Amarim means a compilation of sayings, of ideas. In his Shaar Hablacha writes melukket mipnei sevarim umipnei sefarim. But nevertheless the Alter Rebbe attributes it all to a likkut. He's simply compiling sources. But the way the Alter Rebbe compiled it and the way he applied the sources and the depth that he showed in the sources the depth that he showed in the sources really turns the Tanya into one of the greatest works of khiddush in the history of Yiddishkeit. But like all of khiddush, not a khiddush in the sense that it's something new which was not taught before, but rather showing what is embedded in the depth of all the material and resources of Yahdus, beginning from the Tanakh, throughout Mishnah, Gemara, Medrashim, Kabbalah, and bringing it to light in the way that and bringing it to light in the way that the Alter Rebbe did. And certainly, one of these ideas is the Beinoni. Because the second name for the safer is Likutei Amarim, and then Sefer Shel Beinonim. Now, the Sugya of the Beinoni is really one that pervades all of the 53 chapters of Tanya, because that's the name of the safer, Sefer Shel Beinonim. But we're going to explore one, I think, central point. One of the greatest frustrations
