Actually, if you look in Pirkei Avot, in the sixth perek, which is technically not really part of Pirkei Avot, Pirkei Avot says consists of five perakim of the Mishnah, the sixth perek is braisas Shanah chachamim u'valashon ha'Mishnah, how many kinyanei Torah are there? There mem ches kinyanim, there's 48 kinyanim. Presumably, there's a connection between the 48 kinyanim and the days of Sefirah. We usually associate the days of Sefirat ha'Omer with with the 48 kinyanim of Torah. But the question is, but there're 49 days of Sefirah. So if you're supposed to use each day for one of the kinyanim, so what what happens on the 49th day? You have a day off? Is that How do we How do we account for the 49th day of Sefirah? So it's very interesting. Both the Sifrei Chassidus and the Sifrei Mussar, Chidushei Rim writes, and Rebbe Yisrael Salanter is quoted as saying that the 49th day, the last day of Sefirah is the Yom Ha Klal. On the 49th day of Sefirah, we're supposed to make a cheshbon, a din v'cheshbon. Where we kinyana Torah with all the 48 ways, we so to speak, we go over all the mem ches kinyanei Torah to see where we're holding with them. But it's interesting, Rebbe Yisrael Salanter has a different take on this. What's the p'shat in the 49 days of Sefirah? Why are there 48 kinyanim of Torah? Where does this number 48 come from? Where else do we have the number mem ches? The Gemara Megillah says there are
