Reb Yochanan said Reb Yochanan said and some say it was taught in a Braisa, the Gemara says, 120 Zekainim and among them Nevi'im were mesakin the Shmoneh Esrei. They were the Anshei Knesses HaGedolah. So, who did it? The Anshei Knesses HaGedolah or Shimon HaPakuli? Also, the Yerushalmi says among these 120 sages were not just Chaggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, Ezra, they were mesakin the tefillah. So, what do we need Shimon HaPakuli for? do we need Shimon HaPakuli for? Says the Gemara, they forgot the order and then Shimon HaPakuli reinstated the order. >> [snorts] >> So, the question is, they forgot the order of Shmoneh Esrei? >> [snorts] >> I mean, if you were on a desert island for a year, would you forget the order of Shmoneh Esrei? Would the Jewish people forget the order of Shmoneh Esrei? I mean, you may get a little confused between Ashkenaz and Sefard, but you're going to forget the order?
