Someone had asked, I think last week, about the spelling of Akiva with an aleph at the end or a hey at the end. So, I had said and that that is correct that in the Bavli, Akiva is spelled with an aleph and the Ushami, Akiva is spelled with a hey. Uh but it's interesting that uh some people sent it to me and I actually I actually I was aware of this but it I did it just forgot to mention it last week that in the Hakdamah of the Sefer Or Zarua, which is one of the great Rishonim in which is one of the great Rishonim in Germany, he actually says that the correct spelling should always be with a name is Marumaz in the famous pasuk, Or Zarua la tzaddik u'le yishrei lev simcha, right? Or Zarua, there is light that is sown, that is planted for the tzaddik and for those who are upright, there would be joy. If you look at the last letter of each of those words, Or, Zarua la tzaddik, so it spells Or, Resh Zarua la tzaddik, so it spells Or, Resh is Rabbi, Zarua is aleph, tzaddik is kuf, u'le yishrei is yud, and simcha uh is hey. So, that actually spells uh s- uh s- Akiva. And that's Akiva with a hey and uh according to the Or Zarua, therefore there's a marker to the Ushami that one should spell it with a hey. So, again, it's still the case that our printed Bavli does have an aleph but but some are Marumaz in that in that pasuk.
