Oh. Birchas Hachama, the bracha that we make commemorating the creation of the sun by Hakadosh Baruch Hu, is one of the rarest events in all of Yahadus, Judaism. Only once every 28 years does this event take place. Just as we make a bracha every month upon the molad halavanah, the rebirth of the moon, so too do we make a bracha on the sun. However, whereas the bracha on molad halavanah requires only one molad halavanah requires only one condition to be met, as we'll see in part two of our presentation, with regards to Birchas Hachama, many conditions need to be met. Good are the luminaries that Hashem has created, referring to the sun, moon, and stars. He fashioned them with great wisdom and insight. But besides the obvious physical effects, such as the sun lighting up our days and warming up our seasons, they also have a ruchniyus thing, or spiritual effect on us. And only when all the physical as well as ruchniyus aspects coincide, or line up so to speak, do we make the bracha of Birchas do we make the bracha of Birchas Hachama.
