boy, the tamas shivas yamim kiminei nidda vosasa titma, she shall be contaminated. She has the status of impurity of tumah for seven-day period as she would do during her regular menstruation. The Gemara Niddah tells us, melamdim osam kol torah kulah. We're talking now a woman conceives, she gives birth seven days, on the eighth day is the bris. Biyom hashmini yimol basar orlaso. The eighth day is the bris. We've spoken about this parsha many times. Why the number seven? Why is the bris on the eighth day? Why is our covenant with Hashem davka in that place, in that way, at that time? The days of tumah that ensue, 33 uh for a boy or the uh 66 for a girl, days of taharah, of purity that follow and so on. So, the Gemara tells us, melamdim osam kol torah kulah, that when this baby is in the womb, this woman conceives the baby boy, what is the boy doing nine months of gestation, nine months of pregnancy? The baby is learning Torah with the malach. The And once it's time to be born, the malach comes and gives a little pat, a little smack on the lip, the indent on the upper lip, and causes the Torah the baby to forget all of the Torah that he has learned. And the Shmuel Bar wonders, If the baby's only destined to forget, what is the point of spending nine months studying, learning, only to be caused to forget?
