thank you everybody for joining us tonight on zoom and those of us who are watching on YouTube Just Give Me a thumbs up if you can hear me can you guys hear me thumbs up all right very nice I'd like to introduce our speaker for what I hope will be a very interesting and exciting talk I met avram Adler several years ago at or samayak when I was trying to sell copies of my book Lush the one typically right behind me um um Adler is a self-taught polymath in multiple disciplines you know if I'm being generous so um I spoke with him about various topics over the years and most recently our speaker has been researching Sav every also known as the Paleo Hebrew script which was used before the ashuri script that we use nowadays for Hebrew um the saviri is a sort of precursor to the English alphabet and to other the English alphabet and to other alphabets that are used around the world I have a whole appendix in my book dedicated to the topic of you know which scripts were historically used for writing the Hebrew language and what changed so tonight's topic is going to focus specifically on the every script when I heard that Adler is researching this topic I was very excited and so I invited him to give this lecture so that I myself and others can hear what he has to say about it just for uh housekeeping issues for technical reasons we won't be
