May God grant lasting peace in the world. In the book of Ecclesiastes, we find teachings that guide us in every area of life. And the verse before us carries a powerful message. One that relates both to physical health and to emotional and mental well-being. mental well-being. When a person has both physical and emotional health, he has the foundation to succeed in every area of life. But when a person is not healthy, either in body or in mind, his entire functioning is affected. He suffers and those around him suffer as well. And King Solomon says the following words. Let's first understand the simple meaning and then we'll go a bit deeper. The righteous person eats to satisfy his soul, but the stomach of the wicked will soul, but the stomach of the wicked will always be lacking. This is a well-known verse. Anyone who doesn't know it should take it to heart. It's a short but powerful sentence with many layers of depth. On a simple level, King Solomon is saying the righteous eats to satisfy his soul. Meaning, his goal in eating is not indulgence. He does not see eating itself as the purpose. Rather, he eats in order to bring satisfaction, to fulfill a need.
