The first kinah found on page 48 in the Artscroll, Zechor Hashem mah hayah lanu, is a recap of the last perek, the fifth perek of Eichah. The fifth perek of Eichah has 22 pesukim, and here are 18 The first 18 pesukim, the beginning of each pasuk, with the word "oy". Woe. Woe is to us, the terrible calamities, Woe is to us, the terrible calamities, the terrible difficulties that are expressed in this perek of Eichah. And then, finally, are the last four pesukim, culminating with Hashivenu Hashem v'nashuvah, chadesh yamenu k'kedem, our request, our plea to Hashem to return us to him, to go back to the good old days, when everything was great. And as we just saw in Eichah, well, though Hashivenu Hashem well, though Hashivenu Hashem is the second-to-last pasuk, the second-to-last pasuk, Hashivenu Hashem v'nashuvah, chadesh yamenu k'kedem, and then we say, "Ki im ki im ma'os ma'astanu." Because, even if you rejected us, katzavta alenu ad me'od, it's been so terrible, your rage is so strong, it is so difficult. That's the end of Eichah. We repeat the pasuk, Hashivenu Hashem v'nashuvah. Rashi says that we repeat this pasuk because we don't want to end on a bad note. "Hashem, your rage, your on a bad note. "Hashem, your rage, your anger, is so intense on us, things are so terrible for us. We don't want to end on such a downer." So, we repeat Hashivenu Hashem, "Hashem, we want to come close to you." And that's the exact same exact same thing we're going to do right now at the end of this kinah. I'd like to suggest another reason for why we repeat this pasuk, Hashivenu Hashem, this plea to Hashem to bring us back. In some sense, this is really a
