So, good evening everybody, and welcome to the first of a five-part series on the five books in five weeks. And it's this is a a Torah crash course. And we're going to go through a very brief and and quick overview of the entire Torah. But before we do that, it is critically important to understand what the Torah is and what to understand what the Torah is and what it means to us. Okay? So, before we do before we go through each portion and discuss them, I'm going to spend some time explaining giving an introduction, so to speak, to the Torah. Now, it's a frightening thing to give an introduction to the Torah, because the Torah is not like, you know, some random author writes a book and we're going to talk about the book and it's like we're going to make create a book club, you know? This is the manual for life. Now, what type of book is the Torah? what type of book is the Torah? Right? One might ask, what type of book is the Torah? So, is it a history book? Is it a story book? Is it a book of laws? Is it a book of commandments? Is it a book of suggestions, recommendations? What type of book is the Torah? Uh you know, I was once talking to someone and we were talking about the 10 commandments. He says, you know, it's 10 suggestions. Right? So, I can't help you if you think it's 10
