So let's start with the para this week. This week's para is s which means the life of Sarah and it actually speaks about um Sarah's passing the pa the wife of Abraham our m the matriarch of our people um she dies at the ripe old age of 127. Um Abraham lives to 175. So he outlives it quite a bit. Um this is still in a period prior to the exodus of Egypt when people are living very long lives. He wants a class focused on that. lives. He wants a class focused on that. Abraham however is not a local in the land of Israel. He is has moved there from where he came from um Aramarim in northern in southern Turkey and northern Syria. And so he um doesn't have a place a family burial plot. So he turns to the locals in Hebron where he lived and he asked them to uh purchase the cave of Machah which is a double cave um that was found in a field owned by a fellow called Ephron. At first Ephron offers to called Ephron. At first Ephron offers to sell it to him for free. He refuses and um he wants to pay for it. He pays a pretty penny for it and he purchases the field and the cave and then he buries Sarah there. Later he is going to be buried there at the end of the para um later his son Isaac and his daughter-in-law Rebecca buried there and later Jacob's wife Leia and Jacob himself all get buried there in the cave of Mela still there today in Kevron.
