The fact that we don't say Tachanun for a few days after Shavuos captures the essence of how Shavuos influences the days that follow, which in turn tells us about the impact of the Torah on the world. that you don't say Tachanun from the 17th of Sivan until and including the 12th day of Sivan. which includes five days after Shavuos. Why? Because you can do Tashlumin, which Because you can do Tashlumin, which we'll explain during the course of the Sicha. Simply Tashlumin sounds like you can fill in the Korbanos of Shavuos for the entire seven days starting from Shavuos until the 12th. The Gemara derives this principle that there is a week to bring the Korbanos of Shavuos. We learn it from a Pasuk, from a Hekesh, from the other two Yomim Tovim where you have the same rule, which is Pesach and Sukkos. The Pasuk tells us So the Gemara says, you see that the Torah has made Shavuos similar to Pesach. Just like Pesach, you have seven days that you could so to speak catch up the Korbanos that you're supposed to bring at the beginning of Pesach. Likewise, Shavuos has seven days that you could uh so to speak fill in or complete the Korbanos that you were supposed to bring on Shavuos. Now, what we have to understand is there's an obvious difference between Shavuos on the one hand and Pesach and Sukkos on the one hand and Pesach and Sukkos on the other because The days that you could bring the Korbanos during Pesach and Sukkos are actually part of the Yom Tov, either Chol HaMoed or Yom Tov itself.
