[Music] good evening welcome everyone today welcome everyone today is um going to be the second lecture in a series on parenting last week was the first and um this lecture is dedicated for rufus lima all those among us that need healing as well as tonight is my mother's your side anniversary of her passing today the topic is setting limits and disciplining your children we mentioned last week that the main prime goal of parenting is to raise a good human being to raise somebody who will be a benefit to the society who will make a world a better place world a better place and shalom not to damage the world and that is for everyone jew or nanju but we as jews have an additional goal in mind when we raise our children in addition them becoming good members of society we want them also to become servants of hashem and therefore we need to give them proper tools and we need to give them proper tools and proper education for them to be able to accomplish these two great goals to benefit humankind and to serve hashem last week we mentioned the the two most important elements in parenting and that is not being overprotective and not over indulging your children and this week today and this week today we will learn about the third very important element in this process and that is disciplining the child and setting rules and limitations and following through with them but before we proceed i would like to preface it with a few important points and even before the introduction i would like to recommend two books that i feel are
