this morning's class is on the torah of the portion of which is from the book of hoshea should not be confused with ushaya or mistaking with yahushua hoshea lived during the first holy temple at the same time as the prophet yushiya and according to the talmud hoshea was even greater than ushaya however we don't have as much prophecy written from hoshea like we do from yeshiya hoshea the prophet prophesied primarily to the 10 tribes from the north we know that the nation of israel divided into two kings one was the kingship of yehudah of judah and benjamin and the second kingship was the kingship of the ten tribes that was led by yurov and benevolt from the tribe of afraid and so throughout the torah when he's complaining to the ten tribes he is calling them afraid the children of afrai to connect the haftorah to connect the torah with the the pasha of the week there are three major themes in the parasha of the week number one is vayetze yaakov avedorano for the purpose of getting married so number one is marriage number two he goes to kharan to earn a living and number three kabbalistically he needs to elevate the sparks of lavan and elevate those sparks and take it with him in his future life and these three concepts we find here in the torah number one when it came to marriage we read over here in verse number 13 it says pertaining to yakov that he came down to the city of adam and there he worked for a woman
