[Music] good evening everyone we're continuing our learning about parenting our learning about parenting this is the third in a series and we're gonna learn about what are the the true goals of parenting what are unfortunately false goals of parenting that some parents utilize um and what are proper methods in parenting in i would like to quote again what i said in our first lecture in the name of rabbi samson raphael hirsch if there is no nobler being in the created world than men and we can all agree that there is no nobler me being in the world than man then there can be no higher activity than to contribute to the presence on than to contribute to the presence on earth of human beings so we see that having children and raising children is the the the highest activity the the most important thing that you can do with your life having children and raising them properly and rav wilbur in his parent planting and building says that raising children is a mission of highest priority of highest priority whose success guarantees continuity of the continue continuity of the jewish people and its torah without having children who are gonna follow in our ways children who have good character traits children who are self-confident not scared of what people are gonna say they're willing to do what's right to stand for the truth to do the mitzvoth follow god's way that is the the the goal that's the true goal of of parenting and that guarantees that the torah will survive there will be jewish people who are strong there will be jewish people to begin with and that's what parenting accomplishes now people often say to themselves and by the way this is similar with marriage
