0:00 Hear words of holiness in honor of this holy and awesome day the day of the hillula of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, we will merit to hear a few words about the privilege we have to take part in this joy, in which the whole Jewish people and the entire world take part today But here we merit to see the inner side, in truth, the light of this day in its inwardness For the essence, what Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai revealed, is the inner side of the Torah.

3:06 Not only what is seen, like putting on tefillin; in all the mitzvos he revealed that they contain awesome secrets. And also this lighting, with Hashem's help, that we will merit to hear words of holiness from our teacher the Rabbi, we will truly merit to hear about the greatness and merit of this day. With the permission of the holy, honored rabbis of each and every one, with the permission of our master and teacher, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the one whose hillula it is, the master of ordination, A few moments before we light, I want us to remember a few important things.

4:16 We know that for quite a few years now the town and Mount Meron have been closed and sealed, that one cannot enter there, and truly very great obstacles were put in the way of coming to the holy tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.

4:41 We know that everything is by Divine Providence from the Creator, blessed be He, and one must look with intelligence into everything and see what Hashem, blessed be He, is hinting to us in all that is done in the world. And I thought and said, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai was particular about the famous saying that everyone says.

5:09 There are many sayings in the name of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, In Tractate Megillah, page 15, the Sages learn that whoever says a thing in the name of the one who said it brings redemption to the world. And Rabbi Yochanan says in the name of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, in Tractate Yevamos, page 96b and page 97a, that every Torah scholar of whom a saying is spoken from his mouth, that David the King asked 'Let me dwell in Your tent forever' - can a person inherit two worlds?

5:38 How is it possible to be both here and there? Rather, every Torah scholar of whom a saying is spoken from his mouth, his lips are speaking. And the saying of Rabbi Shimon that everyone remembers and knows in Tractate Berachos, page 43b, Tractate Kesubos, page 67b, Tractate Bava Metzia, page 59a, that it is better for a person to throw himself into a fiery furnace than to whiten the face of his fellow in public.

6:10 Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai is the master of the saying, the master of the teaching, and every year I say that the reason and cause for the lighting is because of the saying of Rabbi Shimon who said that it is better for a person to throw himself into a fiery furnace than to whiten the face of his fellow in public. This is the meaning of the saying, this is the meaning of the teaching, this is the meaning of the lighting, and it is the main thing and the root of everything.

6:38 What our teacher Yosef Chaim learned in Responsa Torah Lishmah, section 520, in the name of Rabbeinu Bachya, Parshas Terumah, about the merit of lighting for the elevation of the soul of Sages and tzaddikim, as people are accustomed to light in the house of the deceased, we see there is great merit in this. But the day of the hillula of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, his day of joy, we know that Maran the Chida wrote in Moreh BaEtzba, 223, that the day of the hillula of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai is this time, this is the day of his hillula, his hillula.

7:07 and in Bnei Yissaschar of Dinov he wrote that he was born on Lag BaOmer and passed away on Lag BaOmer, we see that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai merited also to complete all the days of his life and all the actions and all the good influences and all that he did in the world, [unclear] which everyone knows, that in section 18, what he wrote in letter 87 on section 493, on the glosses on the Shulchan Aruch So he writes that we all know that on this day another novelty also took place, he explains that Rabbi Akiva returned and taught the holy Torah to Rabbi Shimon, to Rabbi Meir, to Rabbi Yehuda, to Rabbi Yosi, to Rabbi Elazar, and the Torah would not be forgotten from Israel.

7:52 The self-sacrifice of Rabbi Akiva to his greatest students, and especially to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, is what stands to this day, in this time, when the students of Rabbi Akiva [unclear], and everyone remembers them and mentions them, and remembers their knowledge in the world through Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, through his knowledge, through his light, and if we contemplate and see that perhaps the gates are closed because the generation has become so weak and forgets the master of the teaching who said that it is better for a person to throw himself into a fiery furnace, and we must do all that is in our power to remember the saying of Rabbi Shimon and to be careful not to shame any person and also that person who is shamed must be careful not to take offense at any person

8:44 So be careful with the small, with all kinds of people, even with a small child, with an old man, and a young man and a boy and a youth, whether man or woman, and in everything in the world, to be careful and be particular about the dignity of people, which is the highest and most elevated thing. Now this year that we merited to light here on Har Tzion, the dwelling place of Your glory, so that the light of Hashem, blessed be He, will go and spread and be revealed in the entire world and that much good and many good influences and very great merit will flow for us, to stand near the place of our Beis HaMikdash, the Holy Temple, and our glory, and to light here from this place this light, this fire, that will never go out, this contemplation of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.

9:41 In the Zohar Chadash on Rus, page 104a, Hashem, blessed be He, shows that whatever the Holy One, blessed be He, decrees, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai has the power to nullify the decree from Heaven. Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, beyond his levels and his conduct, all his students were holy, and titles In the Zohar, Ki Sisa, page 104, side a, side b Rabbi Shimon, Hashem, blessed be He, says that the love of friends and the attachment of friends that was between the holy company of Rabbi Shimon was the most elevated thing, and from this power they merited all their secrets of the Torah.

10:22 From this contemplation, from this thought, from the unity that was among them, this is what drew into the world all this revelation of Divinity that was in the world. All that the world wanted to attain and to understand, they merited only because of this. And Hashem, blessed be He, said to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai how much the Holy One, blessed be He, rejoices in him, and in the Zohar Tetzaveh, page 166b, page 167 that Hashem, blessed be He, said to Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai Eliyahu, remembered for good, was revealed, also in the Ra'aya Meheimna.

10:52 They told him that Hashem, blessed be He, all the things that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says, and also the Zohar on Shir HaShirim, page [unclear], side b, and the Zohar, page 87, side a that everything that Hashem, blessed be He, in Heaven hears this, the voice of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, what Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says here in this world. The entire heavenly retinue records all his words, and all his words are engraved above in the firmament, every single utterance that Rabbi Shimon speaks from his mouth.

11:20 And in the Zohar, Vayikra, page 14b it is written that all the chariots and everything in Heaven and the entire heavenly retinue and all the thrones of angels above, all of them shake and receive the words that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says. Take note and contemplate how great and awesome, also in the Zohar Balak, page [unclear], side a, everything that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says, even the mountains and fields and forests and trees all tremble when they hear the pure voice of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, even the trees and the mountains and the fields would be shaken by his voice, of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai - how great is Rabbi Shimon - and there is endless more in this to appreciate and explain and clarify, and however much we speak about this, the Zohar is full, full, full of it, and this is the power of Rabbi Shimon.

12:13 And also in the Zohar Shelach Lecha, page 166b, page 167 that the heavenly retinue would inquire after the well-being of Rabbi Shimon; each time he would receive greetings from the heavenly retinue. And beyond his levels and his virtues, that in the Zohar, Parshas Haazinu, page 268b, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the only thing he praised himself for was that he said that he never skipped the three Shabbos meals, he was careful to have the first, second and third meal all the days of his life. Also in Tractate Sukkah, page 45b, I saw people of the higher level, and they are few.

12:51 we see about Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai that he said that if there are a thousand, then I and my son, and with a hundred, I and my son, and with two, I and my son, and with one he can exempt the whole world from judgment. On the one hand, in the Zohar Raza D'Razin, page 268b, Rabbi Shimon holds [unclear] because he merited to fulfill the meals, the three Shabbos meals. The level of the meals and the rank he merited to attain from this cannot be estimated, only what can be attained, [unclear] that at the Yom Tov meal, one who is lacking in the meal can make it up, in Tractate Pesachim, page 27a, which the Sages learn about missing the Yom Tov meal, and from this they learned in Tractate Shabbos, page 44a, in the words of the Ran, that he learned that it is possible to make

13:33 a Shabbos meal also with mini targima, by which one fulfills the obligation. And according to Tosafos one fulfills the obligation only with bread, at the third meal. And therefore there are indeed several explanations of what mini targima is, by which one wishes to fulfill the obligation. Rashi says it is cooked fruits and Tosafos say it is meat and fish. The Rosh says in chapter 2, [unclear] 3, that it is specifically eating from the five species of grain and baked goods that one fulfills the obligation with. And so too one must always be careful that a person, if a person can fulfill the obligation, always only with bread according to Tosafos, but one who cannot, at least to fulfill the words of the Sages, to try to be careful just as Rabbi Shimon was so careful, all the days of his life, with the three meals, so too we must always

14:15 always, always be careful in this, to be careful and precise with the three meals, and at least, even if a person does not merit to eat, at least let him eat fruit, so if he eats fruit let him eat from the seven species, as the Pri Megadim brought in section 291. for we know that a person who made a blessing, fulfilled the obligation after the fact with Birkas HaMazon, in section 268, subsection 17, fulfilled the obligation with Birkas HaMazon over dates. One who made a blessing fulfilled the obligation. At least with fruits from the seven species, we see there is something great in this, as the Shibolei HaLeket brought in section 93, that so the Pri Megadim learned from him.

14:48 But however much a person goes and contemplates the words of Rabbi Shimon and to uphold, to hold on to the knowledge of Rabbi Shimon and to grasp what Rabbi Shimon revealed to us he sees the greatness of Rabbi Shimon, that from all the lofty attainments and the holy Zohar that he attained, we see that Rabbi Shimon taught us the simple things, the things a person tramples with his heels - to be careful not to whiten the face of his fellow, to be careful to keep the Shabbos meals, to be careful and particular. In Tractate Sotah, page 32b, he said that they instituted the silent prayer and the reason the prayer is silent is so as not to embarrass those who transgress, and this is the saying of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, not to embarrass transgressors.

15:27 How careful we must be and contemplate this. In Tractate Kesubos, page 67, about Mar Ukva who he and his wife entered the oven, so as not to embarrass the poor man. This is about a matter of mitzvah, that they went, and it is forbidden to do so to that poor man. And here, all the more so, a person must always, always be careful not to embarrass a fellow, all the more so when it is not a matter of mitzvah, when he did not do him good, but he is only, Heaven forbid, trying to provoke him or hurt him - how careful one must be and guard, and may we always have this fire all year before our eyes, so that we remember that it is better to throw oneself into a fiery furnace than to whiten the face of one's fellow in public. We know that this fire, with Hashem's help,

16:06 that we will light that in Tractate Pesachim, page 54a, the Sages learn that fire was created at the end of Shabbos, and now the fire is Motzaei Shabbos, that we wanted from the luminaries of the fire and everyone made Havdalah and rejoiced. Rabbi [unclear] says, 'Behold, I accept upon myself with strength and fervor the holiness of the day holy and awesome, the hillula of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.'

16:31 May we feel the holiness of this day, may we go to the light of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, may we accept his knowledge, contemplate the things small and simple that can bring us close to Hashem, blessed be He, may we contemplate and think already how we can in practice merit a complete redemption. We are a holy people. We are in the holy place and the most elevated in the world. And all that Rabbi Shimon composed in the Zohar, all of Sifra DiTzniusa and the whole holy Zohar and Zohar Chadash, the whole purpose of Rabbi Shimon was to build this place, the house of our G-d, the house of our lives, and to return His Shechinah into it.

17:10 The whole purpose, that we, thank Hashem, merit and will merit to engage in the Zohar and all the days of our lives, that each time everyone will take upon themselves, each time I say this is the time, on the day of Lag BaOmer, for each one to take a commitment upon himself, to strengthen in learning the Zohar, and to engage in it and to learn from it, and may a person have the path and the ethics, all that Rabbi Shimon taught us in the Zohar, and may we all merit to hope and to long that 'if, in the merit of this composition of yours, they will go out from their exile,' from the beginning of Parshas Naso, that 'in the merit of this composition of yours they will go out from their exile with mercy,' in the merit

17:46 of your composition, Rabbi Shimon, you will go out from this exile with mercy and with great mercy, 'I will gather you' - in the merit of this we will merit and through this we will merit the complete redemption. We must remember and know that it is true that the period is not easy, and I know that everyone is frightened and everyone is confused and there are fears and anxieties for part of the people and each one is broken and confused and does not find the truth and does not know the way and everyone is panicking and confused, but one must always remember, each one, that one must not break over anything and not panic over anything and not fear anything and to [unclear] only Hashem, blessed be He, and to raise our eyes to Hashem, blessed be He, and to strengthen ourselves in prayer, for Hashem, blessed be He, has not forsaken us and does not forsake us

18:38 and He will never forsake us. We must pray for all the Jewish people and for all the hostages, that Hashem, blessed be He, return them to their homes healthy and alive and well, and may He guard and [unclear] all those at all the borders and the soldiers who give their lives, and all those who learn Torah, and all the Jewish people together, all of them, that [unclear] a complete redemption, and may we all merit the building of our Beis HaMikdash and our glory, and our Master, the Creator, blessed be He, our King at our head, and may we all pray together that there be unity among us all, baseless love, and may we merit to be redeemed [unclear], Amen and Amen.

19:15 - With holy awe we approach the lighting ceremony in honor of the Divine Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, together with our teacher and rabbi, may he live long. Whoever bought the oil, please approach the lighting area.
