There are a few grand questions I want to address with you this morning concerning the festival, the holiday of Purim. Let's begin with a possuk in the Megillah, at the end of the Megillah that we read on Purim twice. Perek Tes, possuk Chof Daled, it's your first source in your source sheets. So, the Megillah says, "Ki Haman", to sum up the whole story, "Ki Haman ben Hamdasa Ha'agagi, tzoer kol hayehudim", "Choshav al hayehudim l'abdom". Haman, the son of Hamdasa, the Agagite, the oppressor of all the Jews, planned, schemed on the Jewish people to destroy them. "Vayeipel pur", he cast a pur, what is a pur? Who are goiral? It's a lot. "L'humam ul'abdom", to confuse them and exterminate them. "U'v'voah lifnei hamelach", and when the decree came before the king, "Amar", he said, "Im a sefer", coupled with a written book, a written document. He didn't only say it verbally, he also put it in writing. This is how Rashi explains it. "Yashuv machshavto hora'ah shechashav", "al hayehudim al rosho". His evil scheme, which he schemed against the Jewish people, should be reverted to himself. It should fall upon his head. "V'salu eisav u'vanav al ha'eitz". They hung him and his children on the tree. "Al kein", thus, "Kar'u layamim ha'eileh Purim". They, the Jewish people, the Jewish leaders have called these days the day of Yud Daled Adar and Tes Vav Adar, the 14th and 15th of Adar the name of Purim. Why Purim? Al Shem Ha Pur, on the name of the Pur, which we just learned is the Goral, is the lot that Haman cast. As the Megillah says earlier in the beginning of the story, that when Haman decided to destroy the Jewish people, he cast a lot. Hipel Pur Hu HaGoral Miyom Lyom U'Mochodesh L'Chodesh which would be the best month, which would be the most suitable day in the
