hi ricky hi thank you for joining thank you for having me um all right great so we'll um we'll we'll get started so we began to speak last week in terms of this mystery so to speak of purim and wanted to just build on it further and begin to grab some of the different pieces and understand them and i think they're understand them and i think they're exciting so let's let's just start with the surface story so the surface story as we know there's a uh a uh an inept king a person who had no lineage for the job uh doesn't have the didn't earn it other than through marriage um very frightened very jealous very insecure um marries the daughter of marries the daughter of uh of the of the real power and the granddaughter of one of the greatest warriors of ancient time actually the one who destroyed jerusalem um and um comes into his role as king with uh with little little credibility and little plan and then of course the story starts to spin story starts to spin we have the evil visitor who comes along and identifies one people of probably the tens or maybe hundreds of different groups of people that lived within the 127 city states that this man controls we have this evil visitor who takes control of the monarchy and goes ahead identifies one particular set of people of people and declares and gets the king's support to completely annihilate la leno those people all in one day we're going to annihilate them all in one day and then of course as the disney version would go of this story the the beautiful princess beautiful queen pleads and begs her husband to cancel this evil decree and save those who would become to be
