What’s said in this shiur
The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Shalom Landau’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.
You know, your partner gives you five completely true facts while hiding the one that would change everything. A true sentence can create a false picture. He told you no lies, but you [music] were still deceived. You can use true to protect yourself from being understood. Before your next important conversation, you already know the one thing you haven't said. Torah doesn't only say avoid falsehood, it says distance yourself from it. Midvar sheker tirchak. Because you don't have to say something false to lead someone into falsehood.
