When Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister [music] in 1979, she had her first meeting with Queen Elizabeth II was already known for her carefully chosen public image, often dressing in bright distinctive [music] colors. And on the day of their meeting, Margaret Thatcher realized with horror that she was wearing the same exact dress as the Queen. She immediately began shaking, worried about what the Queen might think, and feeling that this [music] was a serious breach of royal decorum, even though it was completely accidental and unavoidable. [music] She literally feared her life. She wasn't sure how the Queen is going to react. She wasn't sure if the Queen is going to kick her out. And finally the meeting [music] passed, and they discussed what had to be discussed, what was the issue at hand. And >> [music] >> after the meeting, Thatcher went back home, and this was just overtaking her, how she's going to apologize, how she's going to present it to her, how she's going to apologize, excuse herself. She was besides herself, and she thought, "You know what? Okay, I'm going to go back home, and let the day pass. I'm going to reach back out to the Queen, and just apologize, and just say it was a complete mishap." So, Makha-gaba, Thatcher reached out to the Queen, and she apologized profusely, and insisting that the mishap hadn't been intentional. And the Queen looked at her blankly, [music] totally misunderstanding, like, "Mrs. Thatcher, what are you even [music] talking about? What were you referring to? What are you apologizing about?"
