What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Daniel Glatstein’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

The Prime Minister of Israel has dubbed its operation in its war against Iran operation roaring lion. Although there are a number reasons for the choice of this particular name, Dvaram Gedolim in a Mikra, great things, major occurrences in the world are not coincidental. And if this name has been given, then there must be a symbolism and a message for Shomrei Torah Mitzvos. Torah Mitzvos. And certainly there is. My dear friend, Rabbi Mordechai Gelber brought to my attention that Rabbeinu Bachya, in this week's parsha, Parshas Pekudei, discusses the selection of Betzalel from Shevet Yehuda and Aholiav from Shevet Dan to be the architects of the Mishkan. And Rabbeinu Bachya says, perek lamed ches pasuk chof beis, Betzalel v'Aholiav hayu ha'omnim ha'beki'im she'bekulam. Betzalel and Aholiav were the head, the chief architects. Betzalel mi'Shevet chief architects. Betzalel mi'Shevet Yehuda she'nikra gor aryeh. Betzalel from Shevet Yehuda, he's called a lion cub. V'Aholiav mi'Shevet Dan she'nikra Dan gor aryeh. Both of these individuals came from shvatim that are called and compared to the lion. V'ha'Mikdash haya domeh l'aryeh. The Beis HaMikdash was analogous to a lion. Shekein matzino heichal tzamei'achor v'rachav milifnei'av domeh l'aryeh. The heichal was broad in the front, narrow in the back. It was similar to a lion. Kid'chtiv, Hoy aryeh aryeh, Kiryas Chana David. David. Alas, the Temple is called Ariel Ariel. Uv'aryeh nenshu, Klal Yisrael was punished through a nation comparable to the lion. Bavel she'ne'emar, Al lah aryeh mi'sivchai. The lion arose from the thicket. Uv'aryeh asidin l'hismasheish b'zman ha'Yeshua. We are destined to be compared to a lion in the time of our salvation, in the time of Geulah. She'ne'emar, V'haya Sha'aris Yaakov ba'goyim ka'aryeh b'vahamos ya'ar.
